So ... maybe in (whatever) States where women are predominant they'll have a plastic 18" labia dragging behind their cars? Oh boy . . . I can't wait for that.

Next logical step: why should Harley dudes have to wear jeans under their chaps?

There aren't very many around here fortunately, though there is one that definitely seems to point to the driver having issues. It's a large black truck, personalized tag BIGDAVE, with something like "Size Matters" and other, similar things on the tailgate and back window.

I got a good laugh the first time, but I kinda feel sorry for him now, stuck driving around an embarrassment like that.

My wish for those people is everybody around him harp on that topic relentlessly and maybe over a long period of time his limited intelligence would be embarrassed and let this obsession go.

I think it's a sign we have lost our minds. Of course, I thought that when I first saw plastic poop being sold in a general store about 25 years ago.

In addition to the aforementioned plastic testicles, I saw an old, jacked-up, full-size 4x4 pickup truck with big tires and loud exhaust sporting a big rubber dildo glued to the front of the hood like an ornament.

Appropriately enough, a 'W' sticker was proudly displayed on the rear window.

We've seen it for years with minivans. The mom with her three kids squeezing into the back of an SUV, telling the newspaper reporter that she'd never have a minivan because "a minivan just screams MOM!" That's a true quote from our newspaper a couple years ago, complete with a picture of this woman and her brood and her SUV.

Yeah, lady. Like the three kids you're schlepping around don't scream MOM!

    Oh, I've seen that.

I just assumed the driver had had them removed and they were some sort of trophy. Who else would drive/do such a thing?

(Maybe they went in for surgery at the local V.A.?)

All this was news to me but I expect someone will start marketing the plastic things here, if they haven't already.

I wonder what would have happened if there had been a display like this 60 years ago, or in the 1920s/30s. I suppose some obscure law would have been dug out and there would have been a prosecution by the police. And then the defence would have claimed that it's just plastic and if you see it as representing something else the thought is only in your mind. "When I saw it," claims the defence lawyer, "I merely thought the owner grew cherries or some similar fruit and this was to advertise the product. In fact my client is a cherry farmer."

I'm joining efusco as an outlier....

It's simply a part of our anatomy... there's no issue in that sense... but what is screwy - like others said - is the symbolism - the meaning behind the use of the balls.

I just saw a wonderful plastic pair this week while I was driving home from work. My daughter spotted them actually. She said, "OH GROSS!" Then she continued with, "Mom, do you think he's bragging or complaining cause someone cut them off and handed them to him?" B)

If you don't mind me asking, how old is your daughter? I have a 10 year-old, and despite our conversations with her (and the abstinance-only information from school), I wonder if she would recognize them immediately (hanging from a truck as opposed to where they normally are)...

She's almost 16. Kids today are so much more aware of things that I never even thought about at that age. All you can do is keep an open ear and give them the foundation to make good choices. That said... I don't think she'll ever hang balls from her car! :D

Sort of a related topic: Notice that some guys start riots at sporting events like the Pistons/Pacers game a couple of years ago? You have a few guys that think they can buy a ticket and scream incredibly abusive things at players, even throw drinks, etc...

This looks like a variant at the aggressive driving and "ballsy vehicles" we see.

Driving sensibly in a sensible vehicle such as a Prius is easy....it's a lot of people are obsessed with their worth and go the other direction.

Hmmmm . . . I would have thought that the sticker would have been used as a name tag on the hood ornament. . . strange. . .

This is so true, (Speaking of children) I was eating lunch at a park yesterday. I noticed a 12 yr old girl (short shorts /t-shirt) and a 15 yr old boy (jeans/tshirt) laying on the grass under a tree. the girl then straddled the boy and started dry humping the boys crotch area through his clothes! As I got out of my marked vehicle to interupt them she was sliding her self up to the boys face. I called out to them and they inturn became guilty faced model citizens....

I called their parents to come get them... The girls mother could believe it because she was only 12, the boys mother said I was wasting tax payers money harrassing her kid and that I should be out catching bad guys or speeders..
