I have some photos, but they are kinda crappy from a camera phone :( I'll see if I can clean them up and post them. (Lost my camera on the 1st day of the conference :( )

I got to see the airbag go off :D

The hulk (this is a brand-new car) is "for sale to the highest bidder".

 It's photos like these that make me wishful for those blissful days of driving my old VW Bug, and the simplicity of repairs! :)

Found my camera! I went back and took some more shots. Here are some of the inverter innards.

This is the array of modules. The center section was torn out:

Here is a close-up of a good module:

    Very cool pics!

Any idea what the modules are inside the inverters?

I think they are FETs and diodes . . . but I certainly am not an expert there . . .

I have a few minutes, so here are a few more pics.

A board he labeled "Inverter Control":

A board he labeled "Engine Control":

A board he labeled "Brake Control":

And the speedometer display (even I could identify that one):

LOL. I was there for 2 sessions but haven't had a chance to put up my pics. One of them works for http://www.teardown.com/. The other works for a company in Michigan that has done lots of teardowns of vehicles (he says he's taken apart 35 different Toyota/Lexus vehicles, some from other parts of the world). That company name escapes me.

They bought the 07 Prius new and the 2nd go only drove it in reverse to back it up into the right spot. What waste... oh well. They should've driven it around a bit before taking it apart.
