Should I do the EV mod?

I did my own EV mod based on instructions linked to on this and other boards.

It cost me $2.29+ tax for a momentary switch from Radio Shack. I used a length of speaker wire I had laying around.

The only modification to the car itself was drilling a hole in a blank button near the dimmer to install the button. Everything else could be reversed.

It's fun, but not a way to increase mpg significantly. I occasionally "golf-cart" the last mile so the ICE can charge the battery while it's warming in the AM, but haven't analyzed to see if it helps or hurts. Occasionally I use it exiting a parking lot to the first light (gets a few stares!).

It's a cool gadget though!
