I love everything about my Prius, except for the interior. I can't stand tan, and it's beyond me why so many people choose it for their interior. Did Toyota only make bisque fabric for the Tideland Pearl? I remember the 2004/5 didn't have that great of a dark interior either (wasn't it kind of an auburn/plum color?). If you have a Tideland with grey interior, could you post a picture?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mywhitenoise @ Apr 3 2007, 02:36 PM) </div> I understand where you are coming from. You are upset because they don't offer enough choices in the way of color for the interior. Personally, I love the tan color and had it in my green Caprice Classic many years ago.
Tan wasn't my choice, neither was white exterior. I wanted the medium blue with grey interior. The tan/white was all I could get, without a wait of x no. of weeks, more than a year ago. I will admit, that the tan hasn't soiled as much as I feared, in over a year. I don't have kids, or traveling pets. Get the gray if you can, but the tan is livable too, just not my choice either.
I ordered my '06 Seaside Pearl specifically with a grey interior ... the dealer looked at me kind of funny, but I told my salesperson that I MUST have the grey (said with menacing one-eyed stare). I had seen on the Prius website (under the "design your Prius" section) that you could get either the grey or the tan ... I haven't checked for the tideland pearl, but if the site shows it as a possibility, you can order yours that way. Be aware that the grey is kind of a medium grey - lighter than what they show on the website. I expected it to be darker, but I'm still happy with it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ohm86 @ Apr 3 2007, 04:34 PM) </div> I had the exact same thing happen to me. After I refused the Black one that was on the lot and said that I wanted Seaside Pearl, tie salesman said, "and of course you want a tan interior". When I said no he seemed puzzled and told me that most people want tan in that color combination. I didn't use the one-eyed stare, but basically stood my ground. He did ask me a few times if I were really sure about the gray.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ohm86 @ Apr 3 2007, 04:34 PM) </div> I already bought it, it's a 2005, they haven't made Tideland Pearl since. I was just curious if any with grey interior existed.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mywhitenoise @ Apr 3 2007, 02:36 PM) </div> There's no such thing, at least from the factory. Tideland Pearl, which was only available in model years 2004 and 2005 only came with the tan ("Ivory", actually) interior. The exterior/interior color combinations were extremely limited then. As I recall, only the white and black exteriors had a choice of interior color. Otherwise all other colors had a fixed interior color: Seaside Pearl and Driftwood Pearl both had only an Ivory interior and Silver exterior got the gray interior. Not sure what interior the Salsa (red) got, probably the dark interior. The 2004-2005 dark interior was "gray/burgundy" with some of the dash panels in the dark burgundy color. I think I would have preferred that even to the Ivory interior. I previously owned a 2005 Tideland Pearl, and the Ivory interior was one of the few disappointments as I too much prefer a dark interior, which is what I have now with the 2007.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mywhitenoise @ Apr 3 2007, 04:32 PM) </div> Yeah it's only available with a beige interior. Back then it's beige/black or grey/burgundy
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mywhitenoise @ Apr 3 2007, 12:36 PM) </div> Them is fightin' words, son. Seriously ... the thing I miss most about my GTI that I traded in for the Prius is the tan leather interior. When I bought my Prius, it was down to Barcelona Red and White ... the white had the tan leather interior, and I came within inches of getting that ... but that red is just too gorgeous to pass up ... even with grey interior. Tan interior looks great IMHO ... but it is a PITA to keep clean, and you need to be dedicated in its upkeep.
