How much you paid for your Prius??

That's an acceptable price but I think you can do much better. The market may have changed a bit since I bought my package #2 Prius (last month) but I got it at OTD price of $24,437 (at Putnam Toyota in Burlingame). I probably could've gotten a better price and I think others in our area have posted that they got their Prius at lower prices. If you have the time and opportunity, I would strongly recommend sending out a few Internet price quote requests. If you're willing to travel to the East Bay I've heard that Concord Toyota and Walnut Creek Toyota have pretty good deals.

Look at the post right above yours, granted it is in Va.
We bought 2-pkg #2 cars a month ago for 22K each (+T/L) at 2 different dealers (in So. Cal).
Edmunds.com says 22K is INVOICE for a #2 pkg, however each area is different.
Print out the Edmunds page and me thinks you'll get the car for that price ( or better).

I bought mine Saturday, 24 March 2007 in CT.

There are a few dealers in our area, with a few variations of color and package that I would be happy with; although I really wanted the Hi intensity headlights, either via touring package or package 4 or above.

I went to the dealer that had the color/package that I most wanted.

2007 Charcoal Grey
Package 5

MSRP/Sticker = $ 28,274.

I said I really didn't need the navi system, but if I could get the price down some i'd take it. He came back from the manager and said they'd take $26,900. I said I'd give him $ 26,500.

He went away again, and came back and said ok - so I drove it home an hour later at $26,500, $ 1774 (6.2%) below MSRP.

Hi All!!! I just bought a 2007 Prius with Pkg 6, all weather mats, cargo net, and all weather cargo mat for $27,000. The sticker price was $29,800. I wasn't sure whether that was a great deal or not. After reading some of your posts I am thrilled. I live in PA and this dealer had several Prius on the lot. He had to get mine from another dealer since they did not have the Driftwood Pearl with Pkg 6.

 

Just bought a 2007 Prius with Package #4 for 25,300 out the door. Is this a good price.
The dealers I contacted generally did not budge very much. This was the best I could do within a short time frame so that I could take advantage of the tax break.

Just brought a 2007 prius with package #5 for $26138 OTD.
I am a happy man.

 

I purchased a Package 4 Black Prius last saturday for $23750 (all fees included...tt&l extra) ...actually with $400 college grad credit it was 23350 plus ttl....MSRP-$26374

This was the best quote I could get in the DE/PA/NJ/MD area. The next best quote come in from 3 independent dealers at $26,250. All dealers consistently quoted their invoice @ $26K for this car; not the same as Edmund's quote, but tough to dispute as six dealers in four different states had the same number. The $400 March Factory to Dealer advertising incentive allowed Rt 22 to come in below "invoice".

That worked out to $3000+ under MSRP, almost $1000 under invoice. Best of all, I made the March31 deadline for the $1500 tax credit. My wife and I decided on the Prius yesterday morning, I called around all day, and that night we drove it home.

I started looking for a red package#5, but could only find less desirable colors (i.e. white, etc) for no less than $25900 (invoice) between 5 dealerships. Finally found the red package#6, and got that for only $600 more plus they threw in the mats and applique. My wife and I are very happy so far. The NAV is very impressive. Dare I say, it's worth the $2000+ premium.

When parked, I'm finding it a bit unnerving to have the engine just "die". That's a sure sign of trouble in any other car, but perfectly normal in the Prius. Guess I'll get used to it!

 

I ended up getting my seaside pearl package 2 for $22,230 before T&L. Picked it up on Wednesday night and every time I look in my driveway, I have to remind myself it's not some strange car that got parked there.
This was in Daly City, California.

2005 Prius, Nav., JBL, Bluetooth, everything but leather, 71K miles --- $14,000 !!! Why buy new? At this price, my gas savings alone (used to drive a Pathfinder 4x4) is just about covering my entire payment! The miles don't bother me - it's a Toyota!

I went to Longo 6 months ago to look for a Prius. I left after 30 minutes. They promised me that a specific car was available and when I arrrived they said it was sold. It was a zoo of people and I was turned off by the entire sales experience. They are the biggest and Not necessarily the best in terms of sales service.

our market here in Houston may be alittle different than yours. Three weeks ago I paid 26,300 dollars for a 07 Touring package 5. The dealer told me it was his cost plus 300 dollars. You never know for sure but it sounded like a good deal so I bought it. Good luck with your new car. Greg

 

Good price! You beat me slightly. I got my white prius package 2 for $22,300. Also did a leather a-la-carte uopgrade for an extra $1,200.

I also got a quote for Los Angeles that was $21,700 for the Prius, so I think the inventory is building up.

I'm betting you dealt with Di**l Right? I'm not here to plug dealers around our parts, but really if you don't walk out of there with a heck of a deal something is very wrong. This is our third car from them in 4 years and we couldn't be happier with the service from the management team. Our '07 Package 4 cost us $23,617 on a sticker of $26,513...not to mention the $3000 over the Blue Book value for our trade....

 

Hi everyone. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a prius. White, package 5, and mats. I think I got a great deal at $26,100 OTD. I've bought three cars new now and here's my comment for anyone shopping for a car (I've always been able to get this deal). In general, if you can walk OTD at sticker or below you got a great deal on the car. At that level you are paying very near invoice. A sharp general manager will go for that deal most of the time. This holds true for states where sales taxes are in place. At this level you know there is still some room to negiotiate depending on what incentives are present and how sales are doing at a dealer, but it won't get much better than that. I would suggest internet price shopping for the best deal and then pinning one dealer against another if you can. Yeah it's ugly, but if all dealers had a scion approach to marketing we wouldn't be discussing this issue.
