Prius GT unveiled in Europe? At the Paris Motor Show starting September 23, Toyota will unveil the D-4D diesel engine concept, which it says will have the world's lowest combined nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions for diesel engines in the 1.9-liter to 2.2-liter category. The company will begin producing a version of the engine next year. The Toyota-City, Japan-based automaker will also unveil the Prius GT, a prototype of the new gasoline-electric Prius hybrid and a redesigned Land Cruiser sport-utility vehicle, which will be equipped with 3-liter diesel 4-cylinder diesel engine. Hmmmm... is Toyota planning on releasing a production version of the Prius GT sometime soon?
I can't wait to see what Toyota has come up with for the Prius GT! How do they make it sportier without compromising MPG? This should be interesting.

I think it's just the European presentation of the GT we already know. The prototype use at the Goodwood (??) races. Too bad really, it'd been nice to be able to buy a Prius GT. [Broken External Image]:http://www.xs4all.nl/~krkr/toy_yoda/prius_gt_2.jpg
The GT is a nice experiment and it would be great to have one IF it delivers the same mpgs as the regular Prius. If your testosterone levels urge you do do some spirited driving, get a Celica or an MR2. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Toyota reported that the GT gets the same mileage as a normal Prius when driven on normal roads. But you're right, if you want spirited driving buy an MR2 (or Honda S2000 ).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jamarimutt\";p=\"41034)</div> But you'd better decide soon if you want a Celica or MR2 as Toyota is discontinuing production of both models
My guess is that they will use 17 inch wheels, front and rear lower spoiler, and side valences to add to the sporty look. They will probably also include the lower, stiffer suspension and bucket type seats. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(randalla\";p=\"40689)</div>
