I'm about to purchase a new Prious but the only drawback mywife has is that she does not know if a wheelchair will fit into the rear hatchback. Does anyone transport a wheelchair?
The best way to know this is to take the wheelchair to the dealership and try it out. The trunk has a lot of space, I believe it will fit.

I don't have a wheel chair but I do carry an electric scooter with no effort, except for removing the seat.
Yes, it'll fit, but the wheelchair will ruin the inexpensive carpet material unless you protect it (bottom and sides).

Just take your rear carpet in the hatchback area and turn it over rubber side up...then you get all the protection from scrapes, scuffs ans spills you need
A narrow type wheelchair fits into the back of my '06 even with both the rear seats up in normal position.
