Do you park directly next to other Prii when you encounter them in a lot?

I do, usually...unless it's really inconvenient. I've never actually bumped into anyone while doing this, but I think it's nice when I see a Prius magically next to mine after coming out of a shop or restaurant.

I like to think that Roxanne likes flirting with other Prii.

Yes, I do. I also park beside Hummers, just to show the crass difference. I haven't accomplished this yet, but the best would be a Hummer sandwich-- a Hummer between two Prius.

I haven't had the opportunity yet. I see very few in parking lots or driving. I definitely would if there was an open spot. I did meet another Prius at a stop sign and we stopped and chatted awhile. That was the only time I personally talked with another owner. I expect to see more as the Toyota dealers in my area have quite a few on their lots.

I also forgot to mention my encounters with Prius owners NEVER happen when I park next to them. I was in a Blimpie one day ordering a Veggie Spinach wrap when a guy confronted me about my eating habits. I informed him about me being a tree-hugger and driving a Prius, and he exclaimed "I HAVE A BLACK PRIUS!" It was a truly odd moment. Another time, a woman stalked me with her green Prius into a Staples store, tapped me on the shoulder and said "Hi! I drive that green Prius out in the parking lot."

I guess the point is, Prius owners are WEIRD! :D

I saw one at a restaurant on Thursday.

Lo and behold, there was an empty space next to it!

    Of course I parked there.

And, yes, I am weird.

    I'm weird too.

And yes, I'll go out of my way to park next to another Prius. I did actually bump into a Prius owner while doing this. We exchanged compliments on our fine choice of automobile (smug) and went our separate ways.

Another time I parked next to one, but as I was getting out of my car I glanced inside the other Prius. It's no exaggeration that the contents of that car looked exactly like the contents of a battered shopping cart that a bag-lady would push around. I really expected to see a disheveled, half-coherent woman with 10 mangy cats get into that car.

So, to make a long story short, I'm very judgmental.

    Weird?

    I resemble that remark! :p

I haven't had the opportunity yet, but I definitely would. I haven't seen many others in the Pittsburgh area so far, so I'd love to maybe run into another Prius fan.

After I posted that I never had the opportunity to park next to another I went to the store and parked next to a 2004 Prius. The owner was collecting for the local food bank. We had a nice little talk & he mentioned he has had only one problem in 63,000 miles. The MFD is bad and he is in contact with Toyota about it. I asked him if he belongs to Prius Chat and he said never heard of it. He will have a look at it on his wife's computer. I recommended he join & search his problem or post for help as there are many fellow members who are willing to help. I am sure his problem has been covered somewhere here.

    I do!!!!

Two days ago I went to a remote place in Ann Arbor with my friend to take a few photographs. When I came back after 30 min, there was a prius parked next to mine. The entire "parking lot" had only 7 parking spots though.

I will when I get the chance. I'm seeing more Prii when I'm driving than I had before, but I've yet to "catch" one in a parking lot.

The "hummer sandwich" sounds scary. How would you ever be able to see to get out of the space? If I even get caught in a "minivan sandwich", I worry about backing out blindly (in spite of the backup camera). What I really need is an extendable periscope cam so I can look around before backing. :D

Well, Michgal007, it wasn't mine. Every time I'm in Ann Arbor I look for your black Prius, but so far I haven't seen it. My son is a U of M grad, and my daughter is in her last year of her undergrad program, so we get down to A^2 once in a while. We also have a black Prius, but without the cool plate.

I do when I have the opportunity. A few days ago, I parked next to a blue Prius when I stopped at the local grocery store on my way home, and a silver Prius was on the other side of that one. People coming out of the store thought they were in a Toyota lot.

I park in the first spot I can find; although I did smile the first time I DID get to park next to another Prius. And I think I'd go out of my way NOT to park next to another magnetic gray Prius because I *know* I would be confused coming back.

I volunteer at a local library; when I go there I always park next to the red Prius of one of the librarians.

I've only had the opportunity once but I did take it. My coworkers and I were out for lunch at the Standford shopping center. I saw the other Prius and the empty slots around it and decided to park there. My coworkers were saying there would be a little half sized Prius in the other empty slot when we came back. :)

I parked at the end of a row next to a handicapped spot at the mall. When I returned with package in hand, I went up to the prius and tried to open the back hatch. To my supprise to would not open. After several tries I noticed a sticker on the window. This is not my sticker... OH! this is not My Prius it was in the handicapped spot next to mine. Joe

Not only do I park next to them if possible, I REALLY enjoy waiting in the lot as all the guzzlin' SUV's go by ... looking for a spot, THEN when a fuel sippin Prius cousin roles up, I offer up the spot to them. B)

There are at times 7 or 8 of us in my workplace parking lot. It is unspoken but I often see 3 or 4 in a row. If there is an empty space next to a Prius I definately will choose that space to park. Once I was next to one with the plate "HIBRYD" and mine with "LOW SMOG".

Hey--I resemble that remark! (but not the rest of it, so that's deleted) :p

A friend of mine at work once printed out a sign that said, in huge letters, "SuperFund Site" and put it on my Rodeo (my car at the time).

My windows are now tinted, so it's harder to see inside. I excavate every three weeks or so, but it just builds right back up. I don't carry a purse, so I've kinda turned my car into one big purse.

And I've only gotten to park beside another Prius once.
