I voted dogs and cats since I'm a fan of both, but only have cats at the moment. Adopted my first last June when she and her littermates were found living under a house, and the latest (male, maybe 1 year old, vet thinks he'd been wandering around for at least a few weeks) came home last week. They won't quite play fetch but they do make life more interesting. And shockingly enough neither one complains about going for rides in the Prius.
I have no pets at present because I travel a lot these days. But I am a cat person. My avatar is named Aja and belongs to a friend in Spain, but looks very much like Leonardo, who died 17 or 18 years ago. (Gawd, how time flies!!! I want another cat, but my life circumstances have never been propitious for it.)
