And you're both ahead of us. We got our '05 in the middle of October 2005, and we have ~12500 miles on it.

Yeah, it's a total rip off. I knew about the priuschat offer, but the warranty already expired on the car I own, so it's no good. That's the only part of the purchase I really hate...well the 63,000 miles sucks as well, but that shouldn't be too bad if it really does last up to 150,000 miles. I still plan on taking the bus to work, so that'll ease up the mileage use over a few years.
I don't know why the previous owner didn't buy the warranty, especially when they were commuting so much.

Since April 2005 (when I got the Prius) 33,000 happy miles. I've changed the tires and will have to decide soon about the extended warranty.

Didn't drive much in winter. Hoping to take her (Pria) everywhere this spring/summer/fall.

We have 14,097 miles on our 2005 Prius that we purchased in October 2004. We gave away our Miata and sold our Subaru because, for 5 years my DP and I were both working from home. We mostly use the car to go to Trader Joe's on weekends.

Most of the miles on our car were from round trips from Palm Springs CA to Sacratomato to visit family. What a wonderful excellent car for long drives! It is exactly 500 miles to my sister's house and after driving the whole way myself one time I was nowhere near as exhausted as I used to be with other cars.

BTW, it's me again, absent for several years, loving our Prius. I came back today to look into the extended warranty. I want Danny to get a piece of it. It's nice to see so many familiar folks still posting here.

Last month in New York City I saw 2 Prii taxis (or the same car twice?). 1st & 2nd generation cars have racked up 200,000+ miles of taxi service without major repairs. That is why, IMO, one shouldn't buy an extended warranty. NJ also has the 150,000 mile emissions warranty. My advice is to cancel that extended warranty and invest the money. You should be happier in the long run.

My 2005 (purchased 5/05) is almost at 56k. Not a single problem yet, but I don't expect any either.
