<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ZenCruiser @ Mar 5 2007, 09:15 PM) </div> Well, it's no secret that I support the Green Party. But the two-party system suits the rulers of our country well. It keeps the people divided, while not making control of the system overly complicated. And the two major parties are so deeply entrenched in the mechanisms of control that it would probably be easier to infiltrate and take over one of them (as the neo-conservatives did with the Republican Party) than to establish and build a viable third party. I have a silly fantasy of getting a whole lot of people to enter and take over the Republican Party and make it once again the party of Lincoln, a la Marvin Kitman (who ran for the Republican nomination for President in 1964 on the platform of fulfilling Lincoln's unfulfilled promises).

One's feelings of capitalism being overrated is inversely proportional to the amount of money that they have

Hey, Mirza. I've got more imagination than I know what to do with, but insufficient capital. Wanna trade?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JackDodge @ Mar 11 2007, 02:09 PM) </div> I've got buckets of money. And I think that capitalism is the cause of all our social problems. The apostle Paul apparently felt the same way I do, because he said, "The love of money is the root of all evil." Note the word "ALL" and remember that the "profit motive" is just a polite way of saying greed, which encompases the love of money. On the other hand, I've known destitute people who clung to a religious devotion for the capitalist system, apparently because they held onto an irrational hope of being fabulously wealthy some day.
