I live in DeBary, Florida (between Orlando and Daytona Beach) and starting to negotiate for a Prius/pkg.2
with local Toyota dealers and dealers both North and South of this area. The lowest offer I have been given is $22,900.00. This includes dealer fees but NOT Title, Taxes, or License. I have NO trade-in.

I am willing to negotiate with dealers from other parts of Florida, as well as Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and possibly other nearby States to get a better deal. My goal is to get the Prius/pkg. 2 for a maximum of $22,300.00 including all fees (but not including Title, Taxes, or License). Is this a reasonable expectation? I think it might be, especially in neighboring states outside of the Southeast dealership network and possibly here in Florida as well, as the inventory of some dealers have grown recently and they are bargaining more and not insisting on MSRP or above.

I would appreciate if other members could respond detailing what their Prius with Package 1 or 2 cost them, listing Price of Car, Dealer Fees, other Fees, but not necessarily title, taxes or license. Also names of Dealerships/Point of Contact from whom they made their purchase if possible.

I will be purchasing the Prius as soon as possible and definitely before April 1, 2007.

    Thanks, Ned

In the Los Angeles area there are quite a few available.
We have purchased 2, #2 pkg cars in the last 2 weeks. Paid $22K for each. Edmunds says that is "invoice" price. In our area the "invoice is 22.3." per the dealers.
The dealers obviously make money @ 22K or they would not have sold the cars.

I'm in Los Angeles. At the end of Dec. 2006, I got my Prius 2007 #2 for $22,582.
    Doc prep fee $45
    Sales Tax $1866.73
Optional DMV electronic filing fee $28
So OTD was something like $24,500.

I also did a trade in and the dealer made money on the tradein: I only got credited $4,500 for a car that had a kelley bluebook tradein value of $6,300. However, my mechanic told me I was looking at $3,500 in repairs so as far as I was concerned, it was a no-brainer. I'm sure the dealer will do the repairs for cheap and make money in the end - they did test-drive my tradein before taking it and I assume they had a mechanic look at it too.

Ah, we have no sales tax here in Oregon. So despite my paying $1,000 more for my vehicle, my out the door cost was over a thousand less than what you paid.

$21669 plus TL $45 doc only. Bought 3/9, driftwood, color I wanted. Just tell'em 2500 under msrp and that's it. I could have gotten 100 more off I feel, but am very happy because $1575 tax credit, and 0% for 24 months, definitely made the deal sweeter. Walked in with license and good credit, nothing down. $988 for next 24 months and it is all mine.

Yes pkg 2, but they had only a few 2's, seem to sell fast.

What dealership did you get your Prius at? I'd like to give them a call and see if they have a magnetic grey option 2 car in stock.

Also where did Malibu Carl get his car? I'd drive to L.A. or the bay area to get a deal like that!

    Thanks,

    Nick

Get your reply. Talked to Nate already he's checking his inventory and getting back to me. I'm really trying to get the car before the end of the month. Thanks for everyone's help!!!
