Hiya guys! I just installed Dynamat and I'm very very happy with the results! I'm not the most mechanically inclined girl but I actually did it and it was very easy! My car is now pretty quiet on the road and it hops well without excess noise. I've made a few mistakes but I've taken a lot of pictures for you guys so that you wouldn't mess up as well. I've put the pictures on my web site here: http://ecobunny.com (I named my prius EcoBunny Bye bye for now! EcoBunny

Looks like mine! Thanks, nice job on the presentation. I also cut out the portion of the moisture barrier over the cut-out area and reused it after installing the Dynamat.
Did you miss that area around the speaker? That's a significant area. To stick the dynamat there, you'll have to drill out the rivets holding in the speaker spacer. Here's a shot of my door (I went crazy on the dynamat):
And I couldn't be less . Here it is my front door with the Sound Dampening material ( 2 layers), the interior of the door is acting as a sealed enclosure WITHOUT any rattles thanks to additional pieces inside of door skins.
My Prius is the quietest car I've ever had. I can't imagine why you would go to all that trouble and expense to make it more so. But, you probably wouldn't understand the reason for my BT brace, and sharkfin either. To each their own. The Prius is a fun toy to try new stuff on. Its not just a car, its a hobby. Enjoy.

My Prius seems way more noisier going down the road than, for example, the '94 Volvo 850 it replaced. There's a fair amount of wind noise, tire noise, and sheet metal "drumming" along with some popping and creaking of the hard plastic on really cold mornings like today (27 in Raleigh, that's "really cold" to me now). Sitting at a traffic light, the Prius is quieter, though.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(subarutoo @ Jan 31 2007, 12:42 PM) </div> Personally, my purpose for installing B-Quiet wasn't the road noise. It was to reduce the vibration in the doors, and to keep the sound in when the speakers played. It makes for better car audio acoustics.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(subarutoo @ Jan 31 2007, 03:42 PM) </div> You've had some loud cars then. Other than the 1991 Nissan Pickup that I drove in high school, the Prius is the loudest car I've had.
^^^ Hehe... i think the Prius will get knocked down a peg as the loudest car you've had when the Exige arrives.
lol Hmm.. it might be tied with our 97 Corolla. I think the 00 Corolla LE was slightly quieter than the Prius (maybe cause it was a sedan). It's definitely noiser than our Camry, no question.
