Sorry to hear you've had so many issues.....guess I took it for granted when I installed mine & everything
came out groovy. I've worked on "problem" cars with noise issues, but I've never viewed the Prius as one of them. I think the BLM-1 may be the answer to your problems.
I noticed a guy selling them at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...;category=14932
My amp only has one BLM1....hooked to the front two channels of the 3300c...and I get no noise through the sub (which is running off the rear mono channel). I've got that Sony XM502 running the rears now and no issues there either. If you feed the RCA's into the front two channels of the 3300c you can then use the 3300c's outputs to feed into the 202...and avoid having to use another BLM one there (just an idea).
I wondered the same thing about the BLM-1...."if it need's it then why not integrate it in all of them"...not sure what Xtant's rationale is there.

Let me know if I can be of any help.....sending you pictures of my amp's setup as a "what works" example.
    Cheers

One benefit of being without a sound system for 2 weeks (and counting).
I really have gotten a chance to appreciate all the sound deadening I installed.

Starting to go a little nuts.

If a BLM-1 is all that stands between you & good sound, it might be worth the investment
at this point.......what was the perceived issue with the 3sixty.1?
Is that what you're waiting on?
    E-bay guy has a BLM-1 "buy-it-now" for $49
....maybe you'd go cheaper at auction.
Let me know how it goes.
FWIW, I'm really lovin' the way mine sounds (not rubbing it in....just letting you know that really
good sound is just a step away).

I bought one yesterday - 19.99. So when it gets here it will be installed.
The 3 sixty is a puzzle - mainly because the installer hasn't called me and let me know what RF had to say.
    This is a little annoying.
Luckily I have bigger fish to fry.

    Came out looking pretty slick.
    Did the BLM-1 help?
Did the 3Sixty.1 end up working properly?
    How's it sound?
    Enquiring minds want to know!

    Congrats!

Those systems look great guys, a couple quick questions I hope you can give me some input on.

    Matt:

awesome looking system, i bet it sounds great

how happy are you with the three.1? I was thinking of going with a cleansweep or threesixty or even just an LOC. But now seeing and reading a bit about the three.1, I'm starting to lean that direction. The adjustability of it is appealing, though the automatic flattening of the cleansweep might be good too. I'm a little concerned about the different equalization applied at various levels that I've read about on the JBL system, I wonder if our non-JBL head units have this similar variable equalization?

do you still use the steering wheel volume control, or do you have the HU volume maxed and use the volume on the three.1? does it matter? do you get any hiss if using the HU volume controls?

do you actually need to adjust the settings on the three.1 much or once the right settings are found have you just left it set?

what did you connect the remote input on the three.1 to on the car? same place as the 12v input? did you just tap a wire on the stock HU for both or tap the cigarette lighter power? also what did you tap for the remote turn on for the amp?

is it ok to wire in the aftermarket component speakers to the existing factory wiring on the non-JBL cars, or is there some alternate wiring needed to bypass a factory crossover?

do you think you'd have any improvement in sound quality by going to an aftermarket head unit with say 105db s/n ratio and 4-5 volt pre-outs? I'm still tossing around the idea of possibly putting in a aftermarket head unit since I already have one and a sirius tuner with lifetime activation and kenwood ipod adapter

    Actual Mileage:

great looking sub box, I assume that's fiberglass. How did you get those sides to stay so flat. I'm still finishing mine up but it looks a little more 'irregularly' shaped. Any tips you can give would be helpful as I'm still finishing it up to make it air tight and will likely build another one for my brothers new prius too.

is that velcro enough to hold it in place or have you mounted it with some sort of bracket? On mine I have a peice of galvanized about 1"x5" that i mounted to the backside of the MDF on the face and to the hex bolt for that tie down strap, but it'd then be harder to get at the battery without tools if i ever needed to get a jump.

    thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply, that helps. I think I am going to stay with the stock HU and go with the three.1

what head unit adapter plug did you buy? I thought things like this link were used if replacing the stock HU?

I'd defintely opt for buying an adapter rather than cutting into the stock harness, can you provide a link or manufacturer name for this adapter so I can look into it. Thanks again.

    Go to:http://www.metraonline.com/product_listing.php?year=2005&make=Toyota&model=Prius&type=ALL
Metra part #: 70-1761 plugs into the harness coming from the car (currently plugged into your factory radio)
Metra part #: 71-1761 plugs into your factory radio
Together these let you tap into the wiring harness without cutting anything.
Shop online for them.....I've seen them much cheaper out there than buying them retail at BestBuy or Circuit City.

I like my Three.1, but you might also consider Audio Control's DQL-8 for some added flexibility & more EQ tweakability (does what the JL Cleansweep/Rockford 3Sixty does & more).

Thanks, didn't know there was a metra adapter for the stock HU as well. That's great no cutting, makes me feel better about doing this.

I think I am going to try using the $20 Scosche LOC first, my amp is 5 channel and has a crossover possibly it can be adjusted well enough that I can set it and forget it. If that doesn't work out then I'll go for one of these high tech solutions.
