Drove my Prius at night for the first time last night on the open highway, no street lights, not many headlights. There was a green glow on the windshield, right in my field of view coming from the speedometer area. I am 6'2", so maybe I am just at the right angle for that to happen, but is that pretty common. It wasn't a huge problem, just enough of a issue to be slightly bothered. I don't drive in those conditions too often, but is there anything I can do?
I assumed you turned the dimmer for the speedometer ligth down right? It's the dimmer "wheel" on the left hand behind the steering wheel.

There's a way to remove that glow, if you don't want to worry about the dimmer wheel. Get a piece of black felt and some double-stick tape. Put the felt (using the tape) over the edge of the hole in the dash. You can see where to put it if you get outside and look straight down onto the dash. In case you didn't know, the readout is in the dash and is reflected up with a couple of mirrors. A bit of it goes past the overhang above the speedometer and strikes the window. This is known as "Pepper's Ghost" and is how the grand ballroom scene works in Disney's Haunted Mansion.
