i got a 2007 prius touring edition, purchased it in feb, i purchased a
liquid based air freshner as an impulse purchase and it leaked and
ruined the dashboard. the staining is limited to the right of the mfd
    display dashboard trim
to the right of the mfd theres a trim piece (its the one with the vent)
on the right side between the mfd and the globeboxes

doesnt that part remove? how much would one run?
does anyone have a part number?

its stained, i tried a mister clean magic eraser as a last resort and
    its hopeless

Here's a Toyota place that has it for $102, but shipping might eat up a lot of the savings:

Figure out what it's called and try to get it from an auto recycler. Junkyard dog or some site like that might help.

Here is contact information for a guy who buys and rebuilds Prius cars. He may be able to help with the part, and suggestions on how to remove / install it.

Also, I bought a service manual, so I can try and look it up if you need me to. Send me a message.

You should just get one of the wood or carbon fiber dash trim kits, it covers most of your dash an it only costs about 150.00 the cost of a single replacement vent moulding. hell you could even get a dash cover too. might make the car look better and would definately cut down on glare in the summer time.

    Good luck,

Being a 2007 Model, the lower parts of the dash panels have a textured plastic-like overlay less likely to be scarred. It would be unlikely, although possible, to find 'recycled' parts this new in the model year. The flat upper portion looks similar, not exactly the same, as the corresponding part in the 2004-2006 models. The price quoted seems fair. The OP did not indicate whether it is the 'flat' upper portion [adjacent to the bottom of the windshield] or the lower part containing the glove compartment doors.

One issue to bear in mind is that the passenger front airbag is beneath the flat section just above the glove compartment door... This would suggest you have it replaced by well-qualified Toyota techs. If you look carefully at that section of the dash you can see the faint outline of the airbag 'hatch' which would be 'popped out' if that airbag deploys.

 Sympathies... Don't you just *HATE* it when you accidentally damage your new car?

    AutoSport (www.autosportcatalog.com) offers a custom-fit dash mat, catalog number 22911, $39.95.

It is made of carpet and is available in eleven different colors.

It includes a cutout for the passenger side air bag.

I have made several purchases from AutoSport and am pleased both with the service and the quality of the products they offer.

You might take a look at it.

    Good luck.
