Has it been tested and confirmed to work in the 2007 Prius?

I have mine sitting on the dash just to the left of the MFD so I don't have to take my eyes far off the road. From there I can quickly shift my line of sight between the SG, the speedometer, and the MFD. It's secured with adhesive-backed Velcro. A side benefit of having it there is that the cable is out of the way. The car's OBDII connection is straight down from there, and I've coiled the excess cable around the windshield wiper control stalk.

    No, it cannot.

I can't say absolutely, but there is no reason it shouldn't work as well in the '07 as in other model years. The '07 has an OBDII connection that outputs data.

Hi I'm new here. I actually have a Honda Civic Coupe 2006 1.8L but I joined to get more information on things like hypermiling and the SGII.

Can I join the group buy too? If so, count me in.

Also, with paypal, do I pay the transaction fee?

    thanks,

    Greg

Welcome to PriusChat, gbae007! Lots of good info and helpful folks here. Also, for information on hypermiling, check out CleanMPG if you haven't already.

Quick note - I am definitely in on this group buy, as my car does support OBD-II :) (my name is already on the list)

Sure, the SGII Group-Buy is good for any car model. If you have any HCH friends that want in on the Group Buy, point them to this thread!

PayPal fees will be covered by me, or we might do the purchase through Google Checkout if anyone likes using it (I love it!).

How difficult is it to install this? I am also concerned about warranty issues, if Toyota sees the cable for it, if they may want it removed for any reason. I'm interested but I am hesitating a little.

    Thanks,

    Dave

There really is no installation needed, per se. Instead, personal preference will decide the extent to which, if any, you anchor the display head and/or tuck the cable out of view. Again, I have mine secured to the dash with adhesive-backed Velcro with the cable dropping straight down to the connector, with a few coils wrapped around the wiper control stalk for tidiness. The cable simply plugs into the easily-accessible OBDII connection, just under the lower edge of the dash where you right knee is. Others have placed the SG in the compartment on the dash below the radio, with a hole drilled in the back to route the cable.

I wouldn't worry about Toyota. It doesn't modify anything in the car; it just displays OBD data. If I have to take my car to the dealer, I don't plan to remove it unless I think they need to work around it or access the connector to check codes.

I've been using a ScanGauge II on my 2007 Prius. Works very well. However, I am getting another one for the other car . For the price is too good a deal to pass up. :)

    Cheers;

If I replace my radio with an aftermarket unit will I have warranty issues? No (well only if I claim them for the radio).

Seriously thought why would there be a warranty issue? All the ScanGauge does is read information, it doesn't change any settings. It just plugs into the OBDII outlet. If they want to unplug it for service then fine, it won't hurt anything.
