So I took delivery of my first hybrid on Thursday, and have really enjoyed driving it around. I'm sure given time I'll be able to coax better mileage out of it, but right now I'm still getting nearly double the mileage my 1998 Dodge Stratus gave me (a car I was very happy with, and very sad to see go...) And thanks to the many posts here, I didn't have to pay a near 100% markup for a service plan! Looking forward to getting some more experience with the Prius so I can actually jump into the conversation.

I also bought a sliver '07 Prius recently (about three weeks ago) and I am enjoying it more each day. My old '95 Corolla was a good, steady car, but the Prius is cool, fun to drive, and better for the environment. I filled the tank for the first time the other day. According to the MFD it got 41.1 mpg. That is lower than many Prius Chat contributors, but I know to expect this from reading the posts on this forum. I live in a hilly city and I mostly make short trips with numerous stop lights. And 41.1 is better than my Corolla got on its best tank. I expect the Prius mileage will improve with time as the car and I get used to one another.

It looks like a fun way to track mpg over time, but for the moment it makes me feel good about my 41.1 because I see that plenty of other Prius drivers are in that same range. Congratulations on your 42.9!
