I bought my car at Carson Toyota and I'd be happy to take it back there for service except it's 22 miles away! I'm due for my 5K service soon and need to have my service campaign work done too. So where have you gone for service before and do you recommend them? The closest place to me is Toyota of Hollywood but they left such a bad taste in my mouth with their $3-5K markups.
I have been going to Keyes Toyota in Van Nuys. I am happy with the service I have received so far. Jeff
I've take mine to Penske's Longo Toyota in El Monte. They have a designated service rep for Prius and so far the rep and the service have been fine. Next service will be the 10K in September and I'm going to check the just issued TSB EL010-04 for the fuel guage and filler pipe. We'll see how they do with that. Longo is an experience by itself, only slightly smaller than Disneyland. But it may be an impractical destination for you. Good luck. Keep us posted when you find a good one. John
Toyota of Long Beach has been great ever since I boycotted the dealership I bought from (Elmore Toyota in Westminster) The service manager, Julio Flores, is an awesome guy, everyone's friendly and efficient... All in all great people!
I just had my 10K service at Keyes Toyota along with the factory upgrade/recall of the computer. Not only do they call you, immediately when the car is ready to go, they send you an email. In addition your car service history is available on the Internet.
Bradca21, glad to hear Long Beach Toyota is good. Carson Toyota is literally 5 mins from my work. Should be a good place to take my car, considering how Prius knowledgeable they seem. Does anyone have experiences with New Century Toyota in Alhambra? How about Toyota dealers we should stay away from for service?
You have to remember that usually the service and sales are two completely different sections so I wouldn't disvalue one because of the other and vice versa. I have heard decent things about Toyota of Hollywood's service (from another of Dianne's customers) I was pretty happy with Miller Toyota up until the fuel gauge incident but will see how they do when the parts come in. I must say that two or three times I've been there thus far they've had at least a half dozen '04 Prius for maintenance so they are very familiar with the cars. I'm sure North Hollywood does quite a bit of Prius service, I didn't like their sales staff a few years ago but like I said that wouldn't stop by from going to their service.
I've been told that Claremont Toyota (all the way out near San Bernadino) has great service, but I have yet to try it myself. I will soon, though, and I'll let you guys know.
I also bought mine far from home - in Ontario, which is too far to drive for it to be serviced (50miles). I have had mine serviced at Toyota of Glendale and have been really happy with their service. Weekdays they are open until midnight, so I can drop my car off, go to dinner and pick it up when I'm through. Talk to Edgar, he's the Prius guy there.
I recommend you do not go to Thousand Oaks Toyota for service of your prius. One of my friends at work recommends Longo Toyota... We are going there for our next service.
Well, I hit 5K miles yesterday and decided to take my car in today. I went to Toyota of Hollywood. They got things right the first try - the right weight oil, tire pressure and service light turned off. It all cost me less than $30 and I was done in less than two hours (I also had my service campagin work done at the same time). So, if anyone is in the Hollywood area, check them out and ask for Alex, he's the "Prius expert."
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jij88\";p=\"35699)</div> Hi John, I'd like to know how Longo did with your service. Do they accept Toyota Auto Care Coupons? Gigi
Had good first experience with Oxnard Toyota. They give comp oil chg/check/car wash at 1k miles. Since mine had 2.5K I asked if I could purchase filter as well--they installed at N/C. They reset maint 5k warning to 0, and showed me how to do it as well. About 1 hr. Carl
