Hello, I just received the reverse tilt module for the side view mirrors from sigma auto (www.sigmaautomotive.com/jdm/prius/prius0405.php). Has anyone installed this? Needless to say all the instructions are in Japanese.
Well-- I've started trying to make all the wiring connections--there are 3 and I've only figured one out (I think): 1. A cable interrupting connector 18P in the Japanese instructions--I think I figured this one out since the connectors from Japan fit it perfectly. 2. I need to attach a wire to the number 14 wire coming from connector 22P 3. I need to attach a wire to the number 3 wire coming from connector 11P The problem is that none of the connectors in the car are marked and the ones that I think are connectors 22P and 11P do not have wires in the correct locations as marked in the Japanese instructions. Anyone know how I can identify the corrresponding wires in the American Prius?
If you go to the sigma auto site--it tilts down the side view mirrors when the car is placed in reverse to improve vour view when backing up. It's an OEM option in Japan for the Prius.
Hello from Japan, Mine does not have the option, but I would like to comment some... The tilt function is only available for Japanese passenger's (left) side of mirrors, which means your driver's side. We can guess the wiring is different between US models and Japanese models. Ken@Japan

I've always had some interest in doing this mod, but it sounds like that's a place where few have ventured. I remember reading somewhere about one person that tried it and ended up frying some wires or something... and that's the last I've heard. It would be great if you can get it figured out and working on the right side (US passenger side) mirror. Let us know, and good luck!
