Blinking Maintnence Light at Startup! ?

    Is this bad, I have 4,600 miles on my 2007 Prius i got decmber 1st and i know my first oil change is due at 5000. When i start the car, the maintnence light does about 3 10 second long blinks. Is this other than a notice or something serious. Just wondering, And sorry if there are other posts about this... My search engine was not allowing me to search.

    Your Prius is merely reminding you that the 5,000 mile service is coming due. When you get to 5,000 miles, I believe it stays on. Part of the service routine is to reset the light.

    Nothing's wrong -- everything's right on schedule!

    One thing to add, it will start blinking again 4,500 miles after the reset.
