hubby and i were 26 and 22, respectively, when we bought our prius. and we're paying for it ourselves. nobody spoiling the joy of earned ownership for us. funny, the kids whose parents bought their cars for them (lots over here) always go on about how i take such good care of my car. i tell em that when that $500/mo is coming from your own pocketbook you care more.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(galaxee @ Jan 26 2007, 07:07 AM) </div> I look at it this way. At least they are driving a Prius. I know way too many kids getting BMWs and Land Rovers at age 18.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(F8L @ Jan 26 2007, 10:28 AM) </div> actually, none of them drive a prius. not here anyway. at least they're not completely outlandish though, you're right.
18.5! years old, I have 3 cars, and yes i am spoiled, i totally admit but i do work and have moral values.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(F8L @ Jan 25 2007, 08:41 PM) </div> Word! I thought there was going to be this camaraderie with Prius drivers on the road, but 99% they don't even look at me, even when it's another seaside pearl!! Oh well. Once on a roadtrip my bf flashed a peace sign at another Prius driver and we got one back, so that was cool

Our Prius is a family car... if you average the ages of our family members (5) it equals 17 y/o. How's that?
Younger than everyone above except for 2. I take care of the car cause I'm a car nut. (ok, except for that stupid garage door incident, argh). My car has been waxed 4 times in the last 2 years. I've also waxed my dad's car twice the past summer. come to think of it, I'm basically the caretaker of the vehicles in my family lol.

my SO is 23, she has driven it once. she is a bit paranoid because my insurance company wont insure her until a) we get married, or B ) she turns 25.
46, a product of the 60's and 70's Just switched from driving my 12 year old CHEVY CONVERSION VAN that my colleague called my hippie car. It was quite rusty and I was thinking about painting psychedeic daisies on it. The PRIUS is my new hippie car. Or, maybe it's my midlife crisis car. After all, I chose a "pull me over red" car and I cut off my 20 inch pony tail at the same time. I hunt Prii too as I commute. I think they look vaguely like killer whales so I punch my daughter in the arm every time I see one and say "blue orca" etc. It's payback time for all the bruises she's given me playing slug bug. I like the peace sign idea and will try to start that trend here in northern Illinois. -Flower Child
I'm 18, and the Prius is my first car. We bought the prius as a family car-- but it for my use exclusively.
Woo, 17 and the Prius is my first car! I got it used and I work at Disney to make the payments. I figured since the previous generation screwed my generation over with global warming that I personally didn't want to be responsible for repeating the same mistakes.
