Thanks. I try to read the traffic ahead and anticipate stops and slow downs. Traffic permitting, I coast whenever I can while stuck in stop and go or slow moving traffic and I try to minimize the use of the brakes.

In the first six months of ownership, I averaged between 46 and 48 MPG. My hybrid driving skills improved as the car broke in. It was very helpful to pay attention to the instant MPG readout bar on the Consumption screen as I learned how to optimize my mileage.

I generally do wait until the last bar is blinking, but I do not drive more than a handful of miles once it does. I normally pump between 10 and 10 1/2 gallons per fill up.

ahhhh no wonder.. I fill up with 2 bars left.... I'm always so paranoid about running out of gas. I'll try to wait till the las bar blinks to fill up.. :)

I drive Thousand Oaks>>Hollywood. About 35 miles, and approx. 70 minutes.

I get around 50 mpg. My tanks vary between 55 on the high end and 47 on the low. I find that LA traffic helps my commute, since my freeway driving is often slow and go, where I maintain a fairly constant, moderate speed. During the holidays, when the traffic was light, that's when I got my worst mileage. The temp dropped, and I was going 65+ the whole way to work.
