<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dbermanmd @ Jan, 09:34 AM) </div> There you have it. You complain about being called names, while calling others names. And in the same paragraph saying that you don't condone what you just did yourself! Example or not, you did it. This is your style. I'm used to it.
We should all probably stop feeding him. Seriously--he's in his little neocon haze, and that's where he'll remain. Remember--fact has NO relevance in the neocon haze--only personal opinion, sound bites, and hyperbole have relevance in it. And, btw, calling someone a dog is nowhere close to calling someone a c**t. It isn't even in the same ballpark. In fact, isn't it odd that there's very few terrible words to call a man, when there are TONS to call women? I could call you a g*d-damn son of a piss-nice person, m****er-f******er pr**k, and that would be something to take offense at. (I'm not, btw; just using this for illustration.) It is unfortunate that your screen name LOOKS LIKE DOBERMAN!!!! Until it doesn't, deal with it. Seriously. Go seek professional help. Let it go.

Alright guys, i know its fun, but i think he's had enough... according to his profile he last logged in about an hour ago, so i'm guessing he's finally decided to ignore this thread in the hopes that it, along with his own fallacious statements, will just go away...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eagle33199 @ Jan 26 2007, 05:14 PM) </div> Well, maybe we shouldn't keep bumping the thread then. Ok, I'm kidding. Even though I get very frustrated with the fact that he cannot ever admit that he's wrong or acknowledge that pure facts have been presented to the contrary of his own opinion, maybe it would be a rather lifeless forum without him.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eagle33199 @ Jan 26 2007, 01:14 PM) </div> This forum is kind of a different medium... you generally have an opportunity to think a bit before posting something (especially if you are creating a new topic). Thinking might include doing a bit of research to make sure your statements will stand up to scrutiny... instead of just throwing 'facts' out there that clearly aren't true. This is a common tactic used to convince people that either aren't smart enough to know better, or just too lazy to check the facts for themselves. Unfortunately for the likes of Dr. Berman, we're all a bit smarter than that, and know when we're being fed bulls**t. Dr. Berman is playing in a different league, here, and if he wants to have intelligent discourse about the state of the nation, he had better be prepared to do so on our level... that means cutting the rhetoric and sticking to facts. I'm honestly not sure he is capable of doing that. One, it isn't his style, and two, his positions aren't really all that defensible. So, I'm not surprised that, faced with the clear evidence that his assertions are false, he runs off and hides (after trying to divert the argument to something completely different, of course). Dr. Berman, we're smarter than you seem to give us credit for. If you try to feed us bulls**t, we're going to have to slap you down with the facts. Think about that the next time you post, and maybe you'll actually be able to have a productive debate on the issues instead of having to resort to a futile neo-con p*ssing match. Dan (I'm declaring a win, by the way... probably never get a proper apology and concession.)

I'm sure he'll be back with a vengeance on Monday morning. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(SSimon @ Jan 26 2007, 04:23 PM) </div> I can agree with this. It would be very lifeless if we all just agreed on everything. Besides, at least there's the opportunity to correct mis/disinformation when it comes out. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(danoday @ Jan 26 2007, 04:56 PM) </div> Here's your trophy, Dan.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(PA @ Jan 26 2007, 12:13 PM) </div> Well, that didn't last long. So what was the topic again? I forgot ...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eagle33199 @ Jan 26 2007, 04:14 PM) </div> Well, it may be helpful to remember that those who still think that bush is doing a good job are as delusional as he is. It's been helpful lately, being able to know which republicans to listen to. They're the ones who don't side with the chimp any longer. It wouldn't surprise me if, before the end of the year, they have to carry bush and cheney out of the white house kicking and screaming and put in a rubber room somewhere.
dbermanmd, I find it very interesting that you spew a bunch of republican propaganda and then run and hide from the facts when it is posted. Yet you can go to the lengths of physical threats over somebody calling you dog??? Why not defend your honor by responding to the facts (properly backed by other forum users)? This is much more relevant to the actual topic of the thread you started. Amazing that when a real debate starts you hide? Yet you are first to defend your honor, etc in person physically??
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eagle33199 @ Jan 26 2007, 01:14 PM) </div> Sometimes in the past it has taken him a few days to formulate his responses; but then they were just more of the same tired, old, unsupported and undocumented diatribes, ignoring what everyone else had to say.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bulldog @ Jan 27 2007, 03:57 AM) </div> Yeah, I always give people respect by default. But when someone goes out of their way to earn disrespect, I will honor their wishes. As the good "doctor" has.
Based on his actions in other threads, it seems that Dr. Berman might have more time to respond today. Thought it might be helpful to keep this thread alive by posting and reminding him that we're still waiting for him to admit that he was wrong.
In the interest of giving credit where credit's due, here's a nice commentary on the economy: The gulf between rich and poor in the United States is yawning wider than ever, and the number of extremely impoverished is at a three-decade high, a report out Saturday found. Based on the latest available US census data from 2005, the McClatchy Newspapers analysis found that almost 16 million Americans live in "deep or severe poverty" defined as a family of four with two children earning less than 9,903 dollars -- one half the federal poverty line figure. For individuals the "deep poverty" threshold was an income under 5,080 dollars a year. "The McClatchy analysis found that the number of severely poor Americans grew by 26 percent from 2000 to 2005," the US newspaper chain reported. ... The surge in poverty comes alongside an unusual economic expansion. "Worker productivity has increased dramatically since the brief recession of 2001, but wages and job growth have lagged behind. At the same time, the share of national income going to corporate profits has dwarfed the amount going to wages and salaries," the study found. "That helps explain why the median household income for working-age families, adjusted for inflation, has fallen for five straight years. "These and other factors have helped push 43 percent of the nation's 37 million poor people into deep poverty -- the highest rate since at least 1975. The share of poor Americans in deep poverty has climbed slowly but steadily over the last three decades," the report said. More
