THSII Oblique Squish

    Hi All,

    In gathering information on the Prius ICE I keep coming across the term "Oblique Squish." What is this? Does it have to do with the cylinder bore centerline being offset from the crankshaft centerline? Or does it have to do with the shape of the combustion chamber?

    Any information of the "oblique squish" would be greatly appreciated.

    I thought "oblique squish" was what happened when you stepped sideways into some dog poop.

    Thanks for the response mikepaul. It reminded me that I had a printed PDF of that site and so I imediately referenced it.

    It seems that Bob Allen has the real answer to my question though.
