when I get my '05 I'll be making way less than that yearly, (I am currently making less than that apparently trifling amount now)

No, the article said the AVERAGE buyer. We aren't average :) But if he wants to give me a big fat raise, I'm all in!
Fine by me! And actually, I don't disagree. If you add the standard Prius features on a lot of other cars (assuming they are even available), the price would get up toward $30K. Especially since they say a $25K car, meaning they have already added some package

Nice to see the (recycled) list from greenhybrid - those are amusing.

Shame the rest is (recycled) garbage - scanning through, I caught phrases like "sluggish performance" and "extra weight and complexity". I'm glad I didn't waste my time reading it all!

    P.S.

(n+1): Your route to work drive is a different route to your drive home, to take advantage of the topography and traffic distribution (yes, I do this - 10am via the freely-flowing main roads avoiding the congested city; 8 or 10pm via the now-quiet city to avoid the higher speed, and therefore drag, on the motorways; also, that gets me over the slight hill with a steep climb and long, gentle descent both ways).

(n+2): Even though you live in Florida (or the Netherlands, or the Fens, or somewhere else topographically-challenged) you complain about losing mpg on the "hill" nobody else knows is there.

(n+3) You always fill up the car when it is warm to ensure that you get a good start on the new tank.
