Wow... looks great. I might extend my drain interval to 10k too. 5k is a waste for Mobil 1. Did u do the TBN test?

Thanks for posting this. Could you fill me in on what year your prius is and which Mobil 1 oil you used for each of the 3 analyses on your Blackstone report? I know the Prius calls for 5W30, but some people use 0W30, 5W20, or 0W20, also there is the EP variety in the 5W30. Thanks, nice report!

The first and second changes where the mobil 1 5w-30 EP
The last oil was 5W30 regular mobile one.. (Thery where out of the EP)
    I have a 2004 prius..

I will be trying either royal purple or red line oils for the next test.. just to see if there are any differences..

Thanks Scott. I guess I should have looked at your signature for the year of your Prius. Any guess as to what the difference between the first two analyses was as far as driving contitions etc, and do you remember the TBN for these first two analyses (I think the first is in the database already, but either you didn't post the second or I missed it.) Also how many months was on the oil for each of these and was there any makeup oil or filter change during the oci? Was anything added to the oil, did you change the oil or just sample at around 8K? With your permission I will add these to the oil analysis spreadsheet. Thanks

Yes Please add it to the database.. I think I forgot to post the second oil change.
Lets see if I can answer all the questions.
My driving conditions are the same for all the tests. I do mostly highway. about 90 to 95%
The TB on the first I think was 2.8 and the second was 3.0. Both the first and the second.. I changed the oil at the time of the analysis. This last one.. I had used regular mobil one.. so I wanted to see how it was holding up... so I took it at 8K miles to see. I changed the oil yesterday.. at 10K miles..
I usually go about 3 months (which is about 10K for me) between changes.
No makeup oil or filter change was done at anytime between oil changes.
Nothing was added to the oil.
again.. I just sampled at 8K miles and changed it at 10K

Any other questions please let me know.. Nex sample should be around 110K miles... :D

Thanks Scott. The reason I asked about driving conditions was the change in Fe over your analyses. They are all excellent but some are better than others and I was wondering if one had more short trips or something. I would think with the kind of miles you rack up (40K per year) that you could extend your intervals to 15 or maybe 20K, especially with the EP and if you used a premium filter like Mobil 1 or the EAO from amsoil, also you could change the filter only at 7K or 10K. I think you might find that most of the wear metals accumulate over the early part of the oci, although in my case I got very low wear over the first 2400 miles and greater wear over the next 2500, but this may have simply been lab error. Keep your eye out for my UOAs as I plan to run my oil out to 15K and I don't put so many miles on my car (about 20K per year) which would be harder on the oil.
