Hi all: I've rented a Prius to see if I really want to get one. Well we got it home and there is a symbol that is flashing. The symbol is car with a key. Trying to figure out what this means. Would appreciate any input. Thanks Kurt
that is a symbol for the security system of the car. You can deactivate it by placing the key in the key slot.

I just got my Prius so I am not 100% as I aam still learning about it. but for the little light over the course of a day hasn't changed my battery state even at temps as low as 9F. How do you like the 07' I wish I could have waited a little longer, but a druck driver accelerated my purchase.

Have only driving it from the dealer home in rush hour traffic. It is weird not being able to see the front of the car and that huge windshield and the tiny rear window are other things that I have to get used to. My current car is an '85 Subaru GL. Looking forward to tomorrow when we can take it for an extended drive and see how it does.
You should get that symbol anytime the key is away and the doors are closed. It's normal. Hope you like the car and tell all your friends about it.

I believe it shows that the engine immobilizer is active when the car is shut off.
