No 3 hour long congressional hearing here, more like a minute long, short, comparing brain tissues from samples collected in 2016 compared against the same number of samples collected in 2024 with somewhat alarming differences. I stumbled into this series by way of a subject I posted about recently when mentioning a biography of Marie Curie I'd read in my primary school age years. ref: the demon core anyways, I hope this nano sized plastic things found, is worth someones attention. - YouTube
Can't see, hear, or taste it - so it must be like that global warming hoax or air polution causes asthma.
meh. I don't mind congress critters poking around under the hood but what are they going to do? Outlaw plastic???? I'm old enough to remember when activists said that if we stopped using animal fats to fry foods then it would usher in a brave new world where people are thinner, healthier, and we would have fewer earaches from PITA. HOW'd THAT work out for us??? Americans are heavier, dumber, and let's just say that our last POTUS isn't the only one who suffered from from acute dementia. I haven't had a decent Freedom Fry since $cience woke-scolded McDonald's into eliminating beef tallow.....and you have to sneak into a store wearing a disguise in order to keep CPS from taking your kids away from you if you want to sneak a little leaf lard into your biscuit recipe!! All of this happened in the 90's. Since then: Dementia rates - Up dramatically. Obesity rates - Up dramatically. Heart disease is a mixed bag ONLY because of medical advances which are independent of the Holy Jihad against tallow, butter and eggs. Now? It's plastics. (Oil) - but not just ANY plastics!!! NANO-plastics...... Science or $cience??? (or....is it religion?) time will tell....
I grew up in dusty Oklahoma so paraphrasing Will Rogers, "Micro plastics are a good thing ... they replace the dust, dirt, and pollen." What next, the evils of Dihydrogen oxide? Bob Wilson
Here's a couple of reference sources, if someone is interested. What's BPA, and do I really need a new water bottle? | HowStuffWorks PFAS Testing and Concentrations to Inform Clinical Care of Exposed Patients - Guidance on PFAS Exposure, Testing, and Clinical Follow-Up - NCBI Bookshelf I guess sticking your head in the sand and pretending something doesn't exist works for some people....... One reference is a dot gov; so you may want to download it before DOGE gets to that department. YMMV
From the New England Journal of Medicine: Microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) are emerging as a potential risk factor for cardiovascular disease the presence of microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) in carotid artery plaque and linked it with a higher risk. the prospective study by Marfella et al. on the association of microplastics and nanoplastics with cardiovascular outcomes uncontrolled flow of sewage — including the metals, trash, microplastics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and other chemicals it contains — into the ecosystem affects We would suggest that microplastic pollution in water could have a role, I've attached my search results. But I don't see "Karen" level concern. Some hypothesis and speculations but no smoking gun. In contrast, silicosis is real and evident in "Black Lung" and a number of other mining associated disorders. Microplastics have not achieved that notoriety in evidence based, medicine. So let's start with some facts and data as shared by Wiki: Microplastics - Wikipedia Microplastics are "synthetic solid particles or polymeric matrices, with regular or irregular shape and with size ranging from 1 μm to 5 mm, of either primary or secondary manufacturing origin, which are insoluble in water."[1] ... Silicon dioxide (i.e., sand) has been doing this since the dawn of all species. So until there is a medical condition diagnosed as "microplasticide," I'll not pay much attention to "EKK! EKK! microplastics." Bob Wilson
We lack hard facts and data. Study is fine but looking for something is not finding something. Still, if you want to send money to support microplastic research: Numerous organizations and researchers are investigating microplastics, including governmental agencies like the US EPA and USGS, research institutions such as the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), and international organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO).Additionally, universities and private research groups are actively studying microplastics in various environments and their potential impacts. Your time and money, enjoy. Not mine. Bob Wilson
Might have dropped a "]" and meant something like: agree, but there's nothing i can do anyway. i've already sworn off of disposable plastics to the extent i can. these studies take years. in the end, most (all?) pollution related studies end up showing a link to health problems. why wait for thousands or millions to sicken? ban it now and start the cleanup process. make the companies pay Well I'm 75 years old, widower, and childless. So I would rather donate a kidney to Towana Looney while I'm on this side of the grass and the rest, post mortem. They are welcome to dig through whatever for microplastics. Bob Wilson
The old man (dad) used to donate blood on a regular basis (once every year of two) and I've also donated to the red cross several times. I also asked what type since it wasn't listed anywhere and followed the donation as far as records tracked the last one. Here is another short from the channel of shorts I posted the link to in the OP. I've always been interested in blastema since my first discovery of the process. It was reinforced in 1982 while watching the movie Blade Runner. - YouTube for anyone more interested in pure scientific studies here's a link to a study culminating 20 years ( with an outliner referenced study from 1991) I'd mentioned here at priuschat in another post several years ago about how mercury was found even in the deep water fish of the Galapagos. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0889157522005877
I worked at Straith Memorial on Lasher Rd one summer freshman year. BR was a yearly simposium destination for many that worked there and could afford it. This one is in Spanish, but the visual was interesting while I was searching for the location of the the second one on the Channels Videos page. it's subject is body art - YouTube and this is the one that caught my eye and is a non narrated musical background, simple visual presentation of fertilization. I didn't find it today, listed on the channels Videos page. - YouTube
When your finished; I'd like to speak to you about the sale of the Brooklyn bridge - It's a once in a lifetime opportunity!!!! What about all the plastic hoses and filters your blood and plasma is going through, while it's being "filtered"! LoL....... I've repaired and recertified apheresis machines in my previous career. YMMV
Reminds me: "I invented a universal solvent, it dissolves everything. I can sell you some, bring your own container."
A friend of mine just bought one of these "new-fangled" $$$ surgical stainless steel, vacuum insulated, trendy water bottles because they're "worried about all of the plastics out there." Meanwhile....they have enough PVC, PEX, and CPVC pipes, filters, and appliance plumbing to warm the hearts of every petrol CEO..... I pointed to my battered, nearly 30-year-old Stanley thermos and welcomed them to the party.
