Can anyone recommend a cellphone holder for the Prius v?
    I have a 2015 v Five.
Prefer not sticking anything on the dash as they typically ruin the dash surface. Also want to avoid air vent mount as they block the airflow.
1 more requirement is a mount with wireless charging.
I’ve tried a few and they’ve been comokete trash. Super frustrated.
    Does this even exist?

I have a dash suction mounted magsafe holder which holds the phone well, rotates 90 degrees and can be used with or without a charger. It does not mar the dash. The trick is cleaning the surface first and mounting it close enough you can see it.

However if buying today, I would go for a bigger wireless Carplay screen and dash cam from Ottocast and leave the phone stored.

Yeah I've been looking at that 10-in display Apple car thingy that Parker just posted I've seen several variations on this and they're claiming this is one of the better doodads on the market which I don't really use much of this stuff so there's always that that's why I don't have it

The advantages are a big screen which makes it easy for Google Maps or Waze and voice directions without touching your phone. Wireless connection to phone and a dashcam.

I got this, but I am currently looking at the android center screen replacement options.
Amazon floor phone mount. It works well and attaches to the floor with one of the seat bolts. Does not block anything except some of the A/C controls which I don't use.

Do any auto manufacturers acknowledge that mounting cellphones is popular, provide a purpose-built strong point for clips or whatever? I’m guessing no, which begs the question: how come?

I imagine because it's a never-ending business there are a couple aluminum grade mounts like the one that I like that goes under the rear view mirror It can be put up there pretty tightly I mean I don't use my phone generally speaking when driving the car unless I'm using navigation which means I'm traveling because where I live I have no use for GPS now my girl on the other hand she uses GPS to get to the sheets Not sure why don't really care but she's in a volt with built-in updated navigation so she doesn't ever have to touch her phone it all comes through the car sound system all by itself there's no doing anything doesn't even have to look at the phone so there's no excuse for accidents and silliness. But there are some aluminum phone mounts that are pretty good You don't hear about them a lot because well I don't know why maybe they don't like the advertise but as you see by the plastics manufacturers in this game even the large companies make throw away stuff so that you just keep having to buy it the perfect setup

Because you don't need to with Carplay or Android Auto built into the new cars. You leave the phone stored or on a charger if needed.

Manufacturers of phone holders are not doing well then?

    Google search for:

    automotive cell phone holder

You see uber and delivery drivers using them but not many others. The nice thing about built in phone video interfaces likes Carplay is you get big screens that are not nearly as difficult and distracting to use. Map apps like Google Maps now have automatic traffic rerouting options.

Traffic rerouting can save the day for Prius drivers who actually get value from their cars, eg those who put a lot of miles on them. Otherwise hybrids are a waste of money, with gen3s leading the parade.

Carplay can read text messages as they come in and allows voice responses.
