    Hey everyone! [IMG]

Exciting news! I’ve not only discovered another Toyota model that shares connectors to the back of the MFD/Radio with the Gen 2 Prius, but I also found a company that manufactures these Tesla style screens. I'm currently collaborating with them to make sure that these radios can showcase the diagnostics menu. Even better, since they already have access to the CAN bus from behind the radio, I’m guiding them to code in some extra data points! This means you could soon see vital details like coolant and oil temperatures right on your screen—no OBD2 device needed!

I’d love your input: what’s one thing you’ve always wanted to see on your Prius display? And quick question—would you prefer a volume knob or just buttons for volume control? The image here shows the units they currently manufacture.

Oh, and on a un-related note, Power Inverter Wiring Kits for the Prius just arrived this week! If you're planning to install an inverter, this is the inverter wire kit you should use!
I’ve tested and they work perfectly for high loads, like running an air fryer daily, without the wires overheating. Stay tuned for more updates! [IMG][IMG]

Oh and personally, I like the Tesla style screen with the knobs like the one I used on my blog article.

BIG NEWS for Gen 2 Prius Owners!

Well, folks, it looks like I’ve done it! I’ve successfully worked with a manufacturer to produce something game-changing for the Gen 2 Toyota Prius (2004-2009), and any day now, they will be shipping out my test units!

Introducing the 14.4” Tesla-Style Screen Upgrade!

This next-level upgrade will completely replace both the upper MFD and lower radio, giving your Prius a modern, high-tech transformation with seamless integration.

    Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
    OEM Reverse Camera Support
    Full Climate Control Integration
Factory Fit – No Brackets, No Cutting, No Hassle
    Steering Wheel Controls Fully Functional
    Retains OEM USB Ports
    Android 13 System
360° Panorama Bird’s Eye View Camera System ✅ (Confirmed!)

    Current Developments:
I’m currently negotiating with the manufacturer to include the side A/C vents in the dashboard bezel, since the original vents are known to be fragile and break easily. I want to solve that problem while upgrading your tech.
We are finalizing how the hazard light button, clock, and other factory buttons will be seamlessly integrated.
I’ll be developing a custom interface for live vehicle data—think coolant temperature, hybrid battery details, and more—so your Prius can display critical information Toyota neglected to include.

I just had to share this with you all mainly because PriusChat but also because as of a week or so ago, I am only a member of one Facebook Gen 2 Prius group. The other group admins have chosen to side with people who slander my name, defame my company, and question my abilities—all without ever doing business with me. The irony, right?

Well, tough luck for them, because they won’t be experiencing the marvels of my work. For those of you who actually know, get ready… because something BIG is about to land for the Gen 2 Prius community!

TBD... the holdup is the harness and me getting it working with the android screen. It has a canbus with two ports, one coming from each ends for the upper and lower... its just i cannot get it to work unless i use another canbus adapter I have and the harness manufacture isnt being cooperative. heh, id ask for assistance but I know I'm the only one in the US with this harness and attempting what I'm doing so... just know I'm rushing as the only way to control climate control for me is using the steering wheel.

Will this show the hybrid screen when engine running and hybrid battery running, etc?
I am very much wanting this.
Even if it is a 2 screen setup, I would be happy with that

Damn, I just got a 2009 2 weeks ago. I ordered a 2k Snapdragon 12Gb 360 Birds Eye model. I would be more interested in this Tesla screen if it takes on the AC controls???? They had a model like this for my 08 Highlander Hybrid (RiP) that did the Climate Control on screen. I have installed a quite a few head units in quite a few cars in my time and I seem to prefer the Snapdragon processors, but they take a minute to boot with the 360 Camera app that comes on before home screen...but the experience is once booted is better IMO. I have always bought these blind without experiencing. I would really like to see one of these in action.

did you know.. they all have the same industry wide rear connectors on the back of the radios? you just would need the harness I have which connects both units into one to then plug into an android heasdunit...

you could take any other unit from a car previously installed and itll work with the harness you have in the car now. just.. sizing and the frame would be needed

right now the goal is to find a unit thats already made thats not too wide to fit between the two large plastic oe component frame supportd(Id prefer not to need to cut those but... they might have to be cut... and still have the screen pushed out far enough to clear the Oe dash surfaces while positioning properly for no glare!

I installed a Snapdragon Unit in my Gen 2. Did the 360 Cameras. (Not Synchronized until I receive the Calibration Mat.) I had a mechanic friend help me fish the rear wires for the 360 cams, then he helped me button up the interior as it was getting late and he forced the bezel on the right hand side and got a couple cracks in the upper right hand corner...NOT HAPPY. But I can deal with the minor cracks for now, but the Bezel has a usability problem with Touchscreen below the MFD. The Bezel does not allow you to touch the top Android Navigation Buttons. Home, Back and Toggle Apps Button (Square) are not useable while driving especially with Car Launcher Pro - CL 1 Theme - that is my current fav atm.

That problem led me back to this Tesla Solution...which seems to need development to get the AC Working. This is a must (for me) as you can not control the actuator to feet or face/feet or just face?

I ordered another Bezel to see if I can cut, grind and sand (Like we did in the early 2000s puttin Mac Minis in the dash) to make those Android buttons useable. ( Especially the square button which allows you to do the split screen as I like Google Maps and Poweramp (for Visuals) to be split while I am driving as I do on my other SnapDragon Headunits.

Anyways, back to the AC w/ Head Unit Dilema, I found THIS MFD Replacement headunit when I was looking for another Bezel for modification to order. It seems (from customer review) that the AC is working ? ! ? The MPG screen looks as if it would be the only compromise?

Looking for options while keeping the MFD AC Controls. I hope this project irons out those kinks. Living in the US, I am thinking that these Units may be going up in price in the VERY near future.
