I have a code C1239 - Foreign Matter is attached on the tip of left Rear Sensor. ALso C1467 Rear Speed Sensor LH Circuit. I jacked up and removed tire and located the sensor wire attached to the sensor but there is no apparent bolt holding the sensor in place. The plastic housing looks like it could be turned to release it but I am afraid to break it. I went on YouTube and found many videos that all show a bolt holding the housing to the back plate. I swear there is no bolt holding it. How do i get the sensor off to clean it without breaking it.

The sensor is pressed into the rear hub-bearing assembly at the factory. People usually just replace the HBA and call it a day. The bits of foreign matter clinging to the sensor probably came from the bearing anyway.

When you buy the HBA from Toyota, a new sensor is included, already pressed into place. The manual may have an illustration that shows pressing a sensor out and pressing one in, but I'm not sure I've heard of anybody doing it.
