My 2018 Prius Prime is suffering from the rusted coolant heater pipe problem. The parts appear to be on backordered! The car doesn't just not have heat, it is also at risk of overheating. They push the original estimate from March into June and I have been waiting since early Feb. Has anyone seen this issue? I am very close in just trading the car in and let someone else deal with the problem

You can temporary loop-out the effected heat exchanger section; but it shouldn't effect your heater - unless you've lost all your coolant. Install the by-pass and refill/burp the cooling system. If this is done properly, everything should operate normally; except for some extended run times - engine will take slightly longer to warm up.

    Hope this helps.....
