Dislike the blue glow around the Toyota logos. Anyone know the front emblem, if the blue can be removed or replaced? The front emblem is smooth, and curious if it removed (disconnect wire harness and unscrew from behind,) can that blue panel be replaced, covered or removed? I have a photo on the phone but the forum seems to want a url for the image so image not added.
The blue shading means that the vehicle is a hybrid. If you have the dynamic radar cruise control system you have to be careful with any changes to that emblem. The radar unit sits right behind and shines through it. The Owners Manual goes on and on about avoiding stickers and appliques on various parts of the car.
Maybe. I just looked at my front and back emblems. The front appears to be a solid plastic casting. The back one is smaller and might have a separate raised chrome (or chromed plastic) three overlapping ellipses Toyota symbol that is holding on the blue fringed black back plate or it could also be a single piece. It might even be glued into the recess in the hatch. You might make some measurements and visit a pick-and-pull (auto recycler) and find a 2012 non-hybrid Corolla (generations?) or other model sedan which should have the standard black background emblem. I don't know if radar transparency is specially selected in the front emblem for models that have the radar cruise control or not. A Toyota parts guy (or girl) might be able to answer that question and more. How much could they charge for a couple of emblems.
