Just curious and hoping to find if someone has had experience Disabling certain "safety" features.

I'm almost 40 and I'm not ok with this new sense of treating the entire world like they're babies.
I didn't think to myself , you know what, when im older..
I would rather have someone tell me how exactly everything in my life should be done.

Cant even back up with door open in my own driveway.
Have to close door, then have to put seatbelt on. It's crazy because i can instantly reverse without a seatbelt before that whole stupid toyota whatever stuff loads up, But if you wait for it to load... Ugh.

I also would like the car to stop being persistent in me needing to give it my email , a pin , an account ... like JEEESUS
It never learns that I'm not going to do it. Everytime I drive i have to swipe away like 5 prompts.

I'd like to figure out how to disable all of that and a permanent disable option for that Precollision crap.
I actually almost suffered injury because of going around a sharper curved bend at a high speed but super long semi in lane on my left made it go off and car behind me was shocked as my car decided to jerk its brakes.

After that i adjusted the sensitivity to min and turn it off everytime I drive.

I'm super interested In that one mod for the UFO noise thing, and was appalled by the member here trying to be condescending and passive aggressive while hiding behind the guise of "asking for a friend".
People ought to protect themselves when they go out into the world, and if they don't..... ? Get better? My sister is handicapped, deaf, G-Tube to eat , fingers didn't develop, paralyzed facial muscles, a lot of things.. She has no problem being aware and stopping my obtuse parents who aren't paying attention to things.

First thing I'm doing is getting rid of that noise, and if people cant be aware.. Well I mean as the driver I'm the most aware one in the situation.. So again i have no idea what that person was trying to argue while being emotional instead of logical.

    • No UFO noise
    • Drive with car door open in reverse without seatbelt etc.
    • Any single thing the car does to take control away from the driver
    • Getting rid of toyotas driveconnect popups etc.
    • Something else if it comes to me lol
All in all the car is amazing even though I abuse it driving far more than probably anyone does in one of these things.

I don’t get pops. Just 2 warnings which I now ignore and they’ve gone away by the time I’ve backed out of my driveway.

Yea mine started as just a couple, but 4 weeks later its popping up asking for email popping up a keyboard to prompt me to "just do it" lol.

And the other gripe for this otherwise really awesome car would be the Lights in the side mirrors that warn a vehicle is too close has a bit too far of a range for my taste/liking.

I constantly am told OH NO A CAR by my car switching lanes about 1 and 1/2 car lengths in front of other vehicles while maintaining acceleration to pass and smoothly get over without disturbing traffic aside from a few that panic if a vehicle merges "closely" in front of them.

Most of the TSS stuff can be disabled by you/the driver. Less and less it seems, at least on the current Prius/Prius Prime, the dealers can further enable/change/disable features. See Section 8.2 Customizations in the manual for a detailed breakdown of what is possible.
