hi forum, newbie here bought a Prius 2024 LE a couple of weeks ago, getting used to drive it (first hybrid ever), but I'm having issues with google maps through the Android Auto. I have Samsung galaxy f23 paired to the car . I ussually use Spotify for music and google maps for GPS. never had problems with my previous cars. after running fine for a couple of weeks , google maps suddenly stops giving voice directions , I can see the map wors , but no audio at all, and the Spotify music plays normally (little faded but plays music). I have done many things I found over the web: restarted phone, set google maps to play voice over Bluetooth, disconnect and reconnect the phone, checked google maps is not muted, etc. the problem happens randomly, sometimes i turn on the car an everything works fine, music starts playing, I put my destination in google maps and start driving . after a few blocks google maps goes mute!. Other times google maps audio keeps working fine, but the Spotify audio is really low!. I'm going crazy as google maps ia very important for my daily commute. I hope here in the forum somebody can help me,

Used to be you could disconnect the 12 volt battery for a few minutes to do a hard reset on all the systems so they're back to factory spec. That's likely the easiest way. I'm sure Toyota's software engineers have all kinds of bugs and a lack of funding for more staff to get them resolved quickly.

Alternatively, you can go through all the settings available and figure it out manually through trial and error...

Google maps losing voice = do not know, happens very rarely with mine so I haven't looked into it

Low audio = Just activate the voice command then exit voice command (you can press the button on the steering wheel, you can do ok google, you can do the mic button on the stereo, whatever method you want to get into a voice command). Low volume is the head unit turning down the stereo but not resuming normal volume when you're done, sometimes it's dumb and doesn't restore volume. Going in and out of a voice command mode makes it restore volume.

Honestly go try waze and see if you have the same issue you do with google voice. Worth a shot to narrow down the problem.

Anytime I had an issue with my wife's phone on AA I just forcestop the maps app and it reloads on-screen and resumes working.

My phone works perfect though since it's heavily debloated with ADB and shizuku

Sounds like a nightmare trying to get modern day apps to work on a super primitive and poorly coded Toyota infotainment screen. Toyota is woefully behind everyone else in onboard software systems that integrate with web apps...

Yea you can get better results with aftermarket screens and some moneyORknow-how.
Sad that each car company tries to reinvent the same wheel.

Chiming in on this as I've had this very issue and was about to post asking about this.
In my case, the common trigger to cause Android Auto to act up is my turn signal warning system. When Maps is speaking while music is playing and the warning system beeps it will periodically trigger this issue. As mentioned, telling google to tell me the weather will get the audio level for music back, but the voice assistant is mute the rest of that ride.
I've disabled the warning beeps in my cluster's settings. No issues the last 24 hours, but we will see. I'm hoping there's a better way to work around the issue as I appreciate the beeps to warn me of cars in the lane my turn signal is on for.

Easy workaround, just don't use signals...
