Thanks, I never thought you'd turned gay. Being old school, I'll make a note of it. With YouTube and Google, I 'stovepipe' my news with information sources that match my interests. Over time, this changes when I find one has become stale or went left the real world. For example: Solving the Money Problem I dropped this channel when I realized he just echoed whatever Elon said. He'd become a "Twitter/X" repeater which I had already dropped when it became the Elon fantasy channel. Bob Wilson
I take data as it comes. I used to wear a shirt when I was a contractor for the NRL/NAVO. "When all else fails, manipulate the data...." I might imagine that my views about 'all things Musk' have changed over the last few years as I have been presented with new (non-siloed) information. They mostly have not, I'm finding. My views about P45/47 haven't changed all that much either. He's merely gone from somebody that I would NEVER vote for TO somebody that......sucks less. I'm 'old school' too. I don't know either - but I haven't "turned" or "come out." I simply do not know. However.....(comma!!!) I can report, with accuracy, that I have completed 10 submarine patrols back in the days when this meant 10 all male patrols. I can also report that I have never been sexually aroused by any human male. TIFWIW....... We used to ask newly reporting people on my first submarine if they were 'gay.' (This was back in the days when 'gay' was a pejorative.) People that became agitated with denial were presumed to have tried it, and found that 'choice' wanting..... AGAIN, TIFWIW. US subs are COED now. As a properly initiated US NAVY CPO I am supposed to support this policy and state affirmatively that having BOTH *there ARE ONLY TWO* sexes aboard brings "more to the fight." That may or may not be true. I will let those that follow me decide that (*) As it is with the LGBTQIA+ fight, I simply have no data to "stovepipe." (*) My 'priors.' We all have them. Water NEVER stops trying to get into the 'people tank!'
Funny thing, I had no idea what 'gay' was until we hired one into our operating system group in 1978. Then I noticed he spent a lot of time making phone calls to handle his active social life. He showed the same time-wasting behavior as co-workers who hit on every woman within reach. When I was 27 years old, I had suffered a series of "dates from Hell." I would buy a pair of rock concert tickets and then the day before, scramble to find a date. So I finally realized I would be a bachelor and only buy one ticket. A couple of months later, my late wife of 43 years "caught me." However, I've also met a 'transgender'. Providing excellent Macintosh support, Mike was a hard worker and skilled. Then he told me after starting hormone treatments that he was transitioning to a woman. Eventually, she wore girl clothes and wigs. She knew I didn't talk non-work subjects on the clock so she asked if we might have lunch one day. I told her, "Huntsville is a small town and if someone saw me with a woman who is not my wife, Holly would find out and I would be in trouble." She took that as a complement and later went to work somewhere else. We had lost a good Macintosh support person. Bob Wilson
There have been gay people in every military command that I have been assigned to. The best MCPO that I've ever seen or heard about is a dangerously attractive young lady who (like me) has proven never to have been attracted to the male of the species. This has been a 'thing' since GW's first-ever Army Chief of Staff in the 1770's.....a fugitive homosexual (and a probable pederast) from the 'Old World.' We named one of my....um.....'sister' boats after him. The '32 boat DID have a certain panache... If your primary identification is based on your sexuality (or race, or religion, or....) then perhaps civilian employment is advisable.
