latest # of HOV stickers issued?

No, I didn't get "the letter". I thought that the letter went to people who applied earlier than I did and that DMV basically just shut down operations for HOV stickers for the month of December. Who knows. Maybe they will arrive today. When I spoke with them a week or so ago, they couldn't/wouldn't tell me if stickers had been issued to me.

Does anyone know who I can call to see if stickers have been assigned to me?

they must have processed them in december because I got mine back with a rejection paper saying I needed to resubmit when I got my license plate

Just got my hov sticker. It is number 89xxx. To summarize:

12/28 check sent for HOV stickers
1/8 check cashed
1/16 stickers received

Not bad, getting the stickers in less than 3 weeks. Now do I really want to deface my Pri????

I am in the market for a new Prius, looking to buy in the next week. Given those numbers, and the fact that I would have to wait first for DMV, then FasTrak (I live in the Bay Area), what are the odds I can still get in on the stickers?

Any help would be appreciated.

I understand you can expedite getting the license plates. Also you can drop by the Fastrak office in SF and they will give you the toll tag and a copy to apply for your hov sticker. I also hear that the toll tags are now for sale at Costco and Safeway stores.

The arrived!!!! Check cashed 12/19/06, stickers arrived 1/16/07. Yippee.

 

I just called the ARB Public Information Office at (800) 242-4450, they say that 1400 stickers are left.

Does anyone have any idea if I can still apply and get one?

My check cleared last night. I mailed the application on 1/8/07. So, do they only cash the check if they know they have stickers? Or, is it like many government offices, where they issue refund checks? I guess we really would not know, since only now are we on the brink of running out.

 

I got my stickers last weekend! I purchased my pri in August, didn't get my plates until late December. So it took about 2 weeks to get the stickers once I sent in the forms.

checked was cashed on 1/17!!!!
waiting for stickers to be mailed....

 

I sent my application via Priority mail yesterday 1/17. I managed to get my license plates/registration within 1 week of my new car purchase. I know its crunch time so hopefully I make the cut. Does anyone know how many stickers are left?? I heard only about 1,000 left - not sure if this is true. Can someone confirm?

I'm right behind you -- bought 1/11, sent in the application by overnight mail today (1/18), right after getting the plates. I think we both have a good shot at it.

Just called HOV Office (916) 657-6560 . . . lady states there are appx 900 stickers left and 1400 application pending . . . she was not able to look up my application.

Just got mine in the mail this afternoon - #900XX. I'd say the remaining number of 900 is pretty accurate. I filed for the Fastrack a week before Christmas and the HOV app just after.

You may still get some benefit from driving to SF. When I opened my FasTrak account by driving to SF, the sheet of paper they gave me to send to the DMV to prove I had the account was simply a print out of an entry in their database showing my name, VIN, and transponder number. If they've already got you in the FasTrak computer and you drive to the FasTrak office, they might be able to print the paper you need on the spot. And if you're not already in the computer, why not just open another account in person? The worst that happens is you end up with two FasTrak accounts and you are temporarily out $25 until you close that second account and get the $25 back. If it buys you even a day or two of getting your HOV sticker application in, it might be worth it.

I'd call up the FasTrak office first thing Monday morning if I were you and ask about it. I found the FasTrak people to be very friendly and helpful to deal with.
