    Good news/bad news for Musk haters.

    There's some talk of de-stack problems and broken bits and it might be a little windy locally - but they're still calling for a 1730 CT liftoff.

    Space is hard - so take heart!!!
    Some blue haired protester might still foul the range - or there might be a WX delay/postponement - OR the thing might still just explode on the pad!!

    More Musk hate opportunities.
    The last Starlink 12-20 mission (12-20) on Sunday, March 2 lost a booster after a fire broke out after a successful landing.

    Of course, the FAA has (rightfully) halted F9 flights until the usual post-mishap paper if done.
    I actually watched this launch on the YouTubes but they stopped filming after the booster landed on the ship.

    If this keeps up we'll have to start a HATE MUSK page.

    Musk hate could well be addressed separately from Starship work, where many rocketeers work, knowing much more details than their leader, and probably unconnected to politics.

    Booster catching is proceeding well along the lines of Falcon successes.

    Starship needs successes before attempting 2-Starship fuel transfer in earth orbit. That being the thing that allows Moon and Mars work. Time required for that cannot be guessed yet.

    Mars appositions occur every 28 months and maybe in 2033 or 2035 will be ready to go there. Optimists may look to sooner.

    Not at all that I"m not interested in moon or / and mar missions. The armchair calculations or / and expectations ( not included in the post above ;) ) are the part of growth projections that gets me.

    I like following the top of the food chain research. I don't like reading about how others ( here at priuschat ) feel it's gonna change their lives in the next 5 years (oopssy, ( or beyond )), for whatever reasons they have to believe it's

    I'm old enough to remember all of the arguments about how the money that we shot into space in the 60's was "wasted."
    Hint: It wasn't.
    It gave us a lot more than semiconductors, non-stick pans, pressurized ballpoint pens and velcro.

    Space-X is on track to, if nothing else, relatively democratize instant, low latency, global communications.
    EVEN IF the 'Starship' programme is an UNQUALIFIED multi-billion dollar boondoggle that results in zero 'lessons learned'........
    ........who is paying for it? ;)

    Teflon is so slick to have got past ya:

    Did You Know Teflon Polymer Was Invented By Accident?

    While all that is worth knowing, my personal favorite is PTFE filter holders for air sampling. Nothing can be cleaned and recleaned like that stuff.

    Meanwhile their industrial bypass and environmental fragments are now called 'forever' chemicals as microbes that break carbon-fluorine bonds are few. But that is a topic for elsewhere.
