Our 2022 Prius threw an overheated hybrid system error last night. I thought it was the cooling vent being blocked by a bag, so I clear that/cleaned it and disconnected the 12v to clear the code. It came on again today during a short test drive, and I realized the inverter coolant is low (shame on me for not checking that first...). It's also throwing a Hybrid System Malfunction error now (doesn't say anything about overheating).

I'm going to fill the inverter coolant today, once I do that should I disconnect the battery to clear the codes again? Or still take it in to the dealership to have them clear the codes/look at it? If I don't take it in, I know I'll also need to check the coolant level like a hawk to make sure there's no leak.

You should read the trouble codes, then you will know what the problem is.

Thanks for the reply. The code it's throwing is P0A01 (voltage converter coolant temp sensor - circuit range/performance).

edit - I also noticed a large number of leaves and fluff in the car on the floor under the engine bay, so maybe that’s from mice? I’m not sure if that’s new or not, I admittedly don’t look under the hood as often as I should…
