    Hi

Just presume i might know answer for my question but I'll ask it anyway, my Prius gen 4 been attempted to break in 2nd time within month, those imbeciles are so ...anyway is there chance to add proximity sensor to factory alarm? Have here as well standalone alarm with proximity sensor but didnt use it as yet so not sure about result. Know that factory alarms usually are not the greatest if comes to upgrades so presume will end up with standalone and factory at same time which complicates everyday life a bit.

    Thanks

What physical principles will your proximity sensor work on?

Detter before my window will be broken again, there is no logic when they running away after alarm went off so they can f off before cracking small quater, small signalling should give they idea what is next.

If the alarm is triggered by passers-by on the street? The 12V battery will quickly lose capacity.

Yes but draining of those alarms are very low, sensor itself takes same amout as led light or less

That's not the issue, it's the power the horn draws and the neighbors getting mad at that car that keeps alarming. I wouldn't be surprised if more vandalism takes place. IMHO... There is something called alarm fatigue, where no one will pay attention - because it's an ongoing issue.

    YMMV

I remember one incident when there was a strong thunderstorm with frequent sounds of thunder. The alarms installed on cars in the neighborhood howled as if the apocalypse had begun, a bang, a howl in different tones, a bang and again a howl.
