    ...........The eighth flight test of Starship is preparing to launch as soon as Friday, February 28, pending regulatory approval.

    A live webcast of the flight test will begin about 40 minutes before liftoff, which you can watch here and on X @SpaceX. You can also watch the webcast on the X TV app. The launch window will open at 5:30 p.m. CT. As is the case with all developmental testing, the schedule is dynamic and likely to change, so be sure to check in here and stay tuned to our X account for updates.

    After completing the investigation into the loss of Starship early on its seventh flight test, several hardware and operational changes have been made to increase reliability of the upper stage. You can read the full summary of the mishap investigation here.

    I learned my lesson and don’t make a reservation until I’m on the way to witness the launch. But I’ll probably wait until the upper stage capture is planned.

    However many Saturn V launches there were, none were meh. Simply too big for that. Later, when Starship lunches are more than twice that number, they may become meh. For some.

    I'm hearing rumors that IFT-9 may do that.
    That will more than double @bisco's hopes for a launch pad incident - although I'm quite sure he's only hoping for property damage.

    I have to admit I am still somewhat impressed watching a 21-story structure come screaming in from the edge of outer space, and park itself back on the pad!!
    I will see one in person but I still have this work thing that I have to attend to every now and again.

    12 success, 1 third stage failure.
    13 NON-'meh' launches.

    IFT-8 failed to clear the pad at T 0:40...

    Not GREAT news since the rocket didn't explode on the pad, but.....small steps, 'eh?
