Stay away from the aftermarket LED replacement lowbeam headlights, they are bright but they have pretty poor beam patterns due to the lights not being a good point source (LEDs mounted on opposite sides of a circuit board) like a glowing tungsten filament.
X. Man this is my plan B because led last longer. Thanks for the info today. Your help has been so needed. I appreciate the time you've taken to that answer my questions.
Get a decent HID kit, look for 35w AC ballasts. Stay away from the cheap DC ballasts. HIDs last a long time, as there's no filament to burn out in the bulbs.
Yes , HID is the best way to go, 1,/lower power consumption, 2/brighter Looking for a fast light on HID, older model take more time to warm up, like around 60 sec, About Day time running light, See mine , just install a led strip , for ur ref, power consumption is less12w,
Necro, but I think all threads should be updated when things change. Up until a few months ago I would have said that unfortunately there are no good options. I still haven't seen any good HID retrofits where you just swap the bulb. Not saying they don't exist, just I haven't seen one. HIDs seem to be the worst offenders for blinding oncoming drivers. LEDs on the other hand have come a long way. There are two reputable brands that I believe make great retrofit LED products. GTR Ultra 2.0 LED Bulbs and the Morimoto 2Stroke 4.0 LED Bulbs. They are a bit expensive, but I would stay away from the bargain brands on amazon. I have 50% tints and the halogen lights just were not doing it. First I tried some halogen H9s which do put out more light, but I was getting flashed from oncoming drivers so I know they are not a good option. I saw some reviews about both the GTR and Morimoto LED's and they claimed the cutoff was sharp. So I went with the GTR Ultra 2.0 bulbs and the reviews were accurate. They are very bright and I have not been flashed by anyone in the 2 months that I've been using them. Ultra 2.0 Halogen
