I am so disappointed in myself. I am doing an egr cleaning and when I went to remove the hose from the top of the EGR Cooler the hose spring a pinhole leak. The stupid hose is about 3 to 4 inches long and has about a 40 degree turn in it. I think it attaches to what is called the Water joint that has a sensor on it. I think the part is 87245-47270 Can anyone confirm the part number and /or a way to repair this with out buying the the hose at the dealership? Thank you
The dealership is NOT stealing from you. You do NOT have to buy from them. IF you want the part from them, it will be X amount. You give them the money and they give you the part. There is NO stealing involved.
Ok please ignore the "stealership comment" do you have a fix? Can you comfirm the part number? Thank you
Some dealerships will not-steal-it for you at a lower price than other dealerships. At autoparts.toyota.com you can probably pull up that part number and see a range of prices from some different dealers.
Looks like the correct part number. I followed a bit of a trail: Radiator & water outlet for Toyota Prius ZVW30L - Auto parts - Amayama Exhaust gas recirculation system for Toyota Prius ZVW30L - Genuine parts - Amayama Heating & air conditioning - water piping for Toyota Prius ZVW30L - Genuine parts - Amayama And on that last one, for item 67246A: Buy Genuine Toyota 8724547270 (87245-47270) Hose, Heater Water, Outlet. Prices, fast shipping, photos - Amayama For me on West Coast Canada, shows as $3.89 USD, with shipping "to be determined". Which might be around $10? In that scenario in past they've advised, to "complete" the purchase, and before you're commited they will get back to you with a quote for shipping, and it's up to you if you want to accept.
Amazon.com: Gates 20338 Molded Coolant Hose : Automotive what do ya think.. its not so much about the savings as it is about the convenience. I live about an hour away from a toyota dealership
Just check the ID. Or the OD of what it pushes onto. And the angle it deflects. It should be slightly on the tight side I think. It'd be advantageous to get one with the legs a little longer: you can always trim them, with a hacksaw or what have you.
