    Hello all,

I have a base but fairly well upgraded 2009 Gen 2, which I purchased just about a year ago. I "upgraded" from an 07 which did not have the DVD Navigation upgrade and while it's a neat feature for seeing the stores and restaurants that were around in 2009, I find it otherwise useless and almost always stay on the energy graph screen.

Seeing Grom's ability to highjack a video signal into the MFD, I was curious if this is something anyone has experience with trying to DIY this. I don't particularly care about audio passthrough, as my main interest is popping a Raspberry PI under the drivers seat and getting some code written to display a mix of information.

Ofcourse I really hope it's as simple as the navbox unit having a composite out that the car switches to, which I can simply replace, but any advice before I go poking around is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have the original DVD in my 2008. I found it to be much easier to just pick up a Garmin unit with free lifetime maps, not messing around with Toyota's system at all. I haven't regretted that decision at all.
