Stolen Cat

    Hey all,

    My next door neighbors catalytic converter on their accord was recently stolen and luckily my 2011 Prius wasn’t.

    Apparently, the accord and Prius are in the top 3 stolen cats. Anyway, I thought it prudent to get a cat shield protector and I did off of Amazon.

    Anyone have experience with it and does anyone know of a good mechanic/shop in Northern Virginia they can recommend and how much will it cost to install?

    Any mechanic or muffler shop can do the install and charge you an hour, at the going rate out there. It took me 1.5 hrs, but I was using ramps and shimmying under the car.
    You may also want to add either a tremor/tip switch alarm to the car, since thieves will need to jack up the car to get to the CAT. Remote motorcycle alarms are a great choice, but you'll have an extra fob on your key chain.

    Thanks! Can u elaborate more on the tremor switch and point to the item; u had mentioned alarm for motorcycles? Thanks!

    You can wire one in or go for a self-contained unit. You'll have to change the battery on the self-contained unit.
