Hi guys, I came across a weird issue with my head unit - a Japanese model Alpine EX9. The HU suddenly lost the settings and did an automatic update, then the issue happened. It rebooted randomly when driving and lost settings after parking for a few hours or a night, then it will stuck in black screen with booting loop. After a few days, it’s hard to boot up and just with black screen and in rebooting loop. Sometimes it’s up, it can run well for as long as I want but when I press the break paddle it will trigger a reboot. Any clues where the problem is? The head unit or power supply? Any help is appreciated!
Are there any pictures of this device? Pictures of the connectors that connect the head unit to the car?

When I first read your post I was thinking it's aftermarket, until I found the references above. If it's aftermarket my first thought was how the unit is powered, or where the head unit gets it's 12 volts from. I"m still not sure if the Alpine is OEM or aftermarket or what the EX9 models features are.
