I have not posted here in a while, so I wanted to post an update on our '17 Prime. This car is my daily drive (120 miles per day) and we go to a second home every week, so another 400 miles, for 1k miles/week total.

We are on the original battery. We have changed the oil every 10k, spark plugs at 120k. I just did the coolant, engine and inverter at 359k. I did not know it was every 50k after the first one, whoops, I thought every 100k.

We had to replace the rack and pinion, a wheel bearing in the front, and some other suspension parts in the front, for a few thousand dollars.

I started to get nervous at this kind of mileage at 50k miles/yr and started exploring my options. We rented a new Prius. I found it claustrophobic. I test drove a new Prime, and the storage space was minimal, and same claustrophobic feeling. I'm not a big person and I have a Corvette, so I'm okay with smaller spaces.

I ended up going with a Lexus ES300h, with all options. It's a backup for now. My husband takes it to work every once in a while (he has been commuting with our WRX, I like manuals...).

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. Anyone with high miles? How has your experience been with maintenance and repairs? Are you going to buy the next generation Prius, or something else?

Congrats on pretty close to 2 light seconds with the car!

    Maybe change the signature? ;)

What range are you getting on your HV battery?
