How to add DRL Daytime Running Lights for a USA Prius going to Canada

    I'm sending a 2014 Prius C to Canada where DRLs are mandatory and not allowed to be turned off by the driver while car is drivable. On the USA Market Prius C DRLs can be turned off with the switch stalk. Looking at the wiring diagram the easiest way to force DRL on whenever car is READY is to jumper pin 19 Red to pin 12 White/Black wire (or any ground) on the Black connector G10 connected to light switch stalk under the steering column cover. This will mimic the Canadian setup, no way to disable DRL when car is being driven.

    If you want to disable DRL temporarily while car is stationary, (i.e. waiting in your car, at a drive in movie etc) you pull the hand brake BEFORE turning the car on. DRLs won't come on until hand brake is released.

    This method may work on other Toyota's. If you can get wiring diagram from dealer or repair shop with access to the information..
