I want to upgrade my current 11.6'' infotainment system from E7052 to E7058 with Carplay Compatibility. I found an unit that's available, but it's located in Canada, so I assume it was from a wrecked Prius Prime. I searched some car parts sites, and some even separate E7058 with CA Market and US Market. For those of you who've done the swap, or those of you have similar experience with CA parts, do you know if this is going to be an issue if I swap my unit with Canadian E7058? I currently have 17 Prime Advanced with JBL, the only thing I can think of which would make this no compatible is the HUD which I heavily rely on it to display the speed limit, and I assume the data comes out of the map data from the main display. So I'm wondering if I'm going to start getting KM instead of miles.
Are you talking about the one that was up for grabs on eBay? I ended up getting that unit. Everything works without any issues and no you won’t get KM instead of miles.
Thanks for the reply!!! I didn't actually see this until now! But I actually just ended up got a unit from Canada and just put into my car, no issue at all like you said, and everything went really smooth!! For anyone who's thinking about getting an unit from Canada, you'll have no issue with it
I have a 2019 Prime Advanced which also has the HUD. So no issues with the HUD not working? I like to use the HUD to see the speed limit and on the factory navigation the HUD also shows turning arrows with distance to turn. Curious if that still works and if it also shows the turning arrows in the HUD when using Apple CarPlay.
I am also wanting to make this change on my 2018 Prius Prime Advanced...which site were you able to find an E7058 if I may ask? I feel like I've looked everywhere!!
I found one on ebay a few weeks ago. Paid around $1100 for it. Install was was actually very easy and all plug and play and CarPlay is working perfect on my 2019 Prime.
Curious, does the defroster indicator lights work? I installed a 7058 and everything works except those two indicators lights, the defrosters themselves work
